I don't play anymore. No limit hold'em has killed all the games I actually enjoy, which are limit hold'em, stud, razz, and omaha 8.

I hope when the next recession hits it kills no limit again.

I just moved back to limit after a failed attempt at NL. I'll admit it - I don't have the cojones to play NL. But the variance in 6max limit may very well be giving me an ulcer.

Huh? Limit's still got a hell of a lot of life in it. I'm planning to go back to it at 10/20 once I'm way overrolled for it from NL.

I wish Alobar posted in this forum. He's a limit guy, I wonder how he's doing these days with so many of those games drying up.

My play is listed to a Monday night home game (have posted about his in Home Poker) and the occasional trip to CAZ.

Don't have anything too nutty to report off the top of my head other than something I mentioned in B&M once that happened at CAZ: a friend of mine seated to my right made a royal flush on the turn (heh, he couldn't help himself, he had to show me). A guy sitting across the table kept pumping up the action. The river paired brought another king and he was betting like a madman. God we were hoping so hard for quads so we could take down the $10K or so big beat jackpot, but no...he had pocket jacks and that river gave him a boat. So close.

I don't hate it. It hates me.

I didn't realise limit was drying up. Is that why NL is so tasty lately? I assumed it was because neteller have been paying out to people.

Will anyone here volunteer to smack me whenever I move up to chase losses? Please. It'll be mutually beneficial. You get the pleasure of no retaliation for smacking me, and I don't donk off my bankroll like an idiot.

I've actually been paying the bills the last few months playing poker...but I'm still under -rolled because I have to keep taking money out! I play Full Tilt 50NL (seven-tabling) every day and 1/2NL live about three times a week.

I enjoy reading/discussing strategy moreso than playing. I do ok with donkaments, and my recent venture into 50NL cash would be breakeven(6k hands) except I crank some tunes and get in a drinking mood and wake up the next day to search HH to see where my $$ went.

Many a morning I come to find I played some 30/60 LHE or $100 SNGs on a $500 roll. So, yeah I'm that guy.

Although live I've been doing well at a local 2/5NL game...JUICY!!

Dom,

Good to see you got rid of your *. They were unsightly.

In this thread from a couple of months ago I was astounded by how few hours those deriving income from poker actually play. In fact since they set their schedule they typically slept in until late morning, didn't start playing until night, and were up until damn near dawn. From memory, they really only acknowledged playing ~4 hours/day.

I was also surprised at those saying the games were softer at night. Well it's always night somewhere and people play online there too. But I guess when it's night in the US is when the money is to be made. Whatever.

I probably play on average 6 hours a day. Over the last month I've averaged just over +3buy-ins a day. It's not a lot, but it beats working.

There's plenty of razz, O8 and 6max LH at low-mid limits online. I don't see any reason to quit altogether just because NL is much more popular right now.

On a related note, do you think if we played poker with gold coins instead of poker chips would that prevent a recession?

Easiest $10 of my life.

I hold AQ in a SNG.

I raise, my opponent re-raises all in with K6 (but it was soooted!)

Thanks buddy.

Do not agree. Poker is what ties most of us together to some degree. Thread was a good idea in my opinion and I predict will get bumped regularly.

There's my problem. I could make good money 8 tabling $3-$6 full ring, then I burned out from doing this 8 hours a day. After I came back to give it another go, I discovered that the 6 maxes had killed all the full ring limit action. And I can't play enough tables of 6-max low limit to make it worth my while because the hands come around too fast, LAG play in the opposition becomes more proper (that's why they moved to 6-max). I'm underrolled for anything higher and don't really see the opportunity to play my way up again. Combine all this with not even knowing how to go about funding an account anymore since the ridiculous internet gambling ban [censored], and I think my poker career is just dead.

And when I said NL had killed the other games; I meant live. Nobody ever wants to play anything but NLHE where I live, and I hate that game except in tournaments (and even the local tournaments have terrible structures and giant rakes).

No, but I played in a local $2-$4 game where the chips were all Sacagewea dollars; it was pretty fun.

I play a local cardroom's NLHE tourney one or two Saturday afternoons a month. It's my get out by myself time.

The tourney structure sucks, it plays like a three-table turbo SNG with short stacks to blinds and the blinds escalate quickly.

On the other hand, that keeps me from staying gone too long

Do you browse the forums while you're 7-tabling Dom?

Poker Ace Hud finally updated their software so it works on Stars.. I know I'm losing a little value by not observing all the betting patterns, but I enjoy my time playing poker so much more browsing forums at the same time.

Just lost a couple of hundred while typing this. I flop middle set, got raised by a pair and a flush draw, I shove, he calls. Flush hits the turn. Gotta love it.

I was almost out of the hole I've dug myself today too. Now -3.25 buy ins.
