I've watched a few on Netflix recently:

Long Shot - The story of a of a young guy who went to Dodgers game in LA, a murder, Larry David. Pretty entertaining story.

Interview with a Serial Killer - Pretty disturbing.

Children of the Jungle: Pygmies - Pygmies.

A big thank you to whoever suggested Los Angeles Plays Itself, I thoroughly enjoyed this and didn't realize how much a fan of LA cinematography I was.

I would love to see a revisit of this documentary or something similar with New York.

Dirty Money

6-part series on netflix, each ep is about a shady business/businessperson. My fave was the one about Valeant pharmacueticals. That middle eastern hedge fund chick is hot af. The one about the payday loan guy is amazing just because of how self rightous he is about running a complete scam.

5/5

Rotten

Same format, 6-part series on netflix about the food industry. All I have to say is I'm glad I've never been a wuss who buys pre-peeled garlic.

Not only did it crush, it did it playing in a really unorthodox style.

Fascinating watch.

Since the whole Waco thing seems to be a thing now (cause the 25th anniversary of the first day is in a couple weeks?) I was told about a doc from 1997: Waco: Rules Of Engagement.

Jesus ****ing christ!!

All I knew before the show, and especially this doc, was that Koresh and a bunch of people died in a fire and there was a cult ingredient. The actual situation is mind blowing on its own without all the shockingly sketchy **** that went with it. Add that, and its like Making A Murderer level with all the revelations happening every few seconds.

Rules of engagement is a classic.
The stupid thing is the local sheriff seemed to have a good relationship with Koresh. Seems like they could have just walked up and knocked on the door to serve the warrant.

That and ruby ridge is what set off all the local militia stuff.

If you are into documentaries about kooky subcultures, then Gold Balls is worth watching. It’s about the eccentric, highly competitive octogenarians who populate the world of ultra-seniors tennis. It’s available on Amazon.

They've gone into other political docs and fiction films with political themes. The War Room was a doc (Clinton campaign 1992) I plan on checking out.

What aspect of it do you want more of?

Watched Restrepo tonight.

I have far too many irons in the fire (political opinions, views on our country’s attitude towards our military culture) for me to give an unbiased opinion on it, but it was a good look at what it’s like to be a US soldier in combat.

AlphaZero's latest update only nabbed 3rd place at the recent World Computer Chess Championship. Perhaps a little too much hype but I guess you just need the general public to think you've created some new, amazing thing that can 'think.'

Just watched Operation Odessa. Basically the unbelievable plot and characters of a bad 90's action movie, but it's real life. Great stuff!
