lots of results for embody, it's discussed frequently and rated highly, I didn't search for the Setu.

For those that have bought a embody or an aeron, what packaging does it coming in? I was wondering if I could dissemble it and travel abroad with it?

My Aeron came in an enormous box - only broken down into two parts. It would be a huge pain for travel.

Anyone finding their ass getting sore in the Ergohuman? It's a good chair, had it a year. What should I buy now?

Is there a poll on chairs? Is the Embody the best?

This chair is great if you sit properly in it and are happy to do that all day. If you don't it will make you super uncomfortable, I have the headrest and it gets pretty awkward at times. Probably going to get rid of the chair and switch out for a recliner.

Thanks
I got an Embody now, which i found fully loaded to a nice price. I had some ugly seating habits like slouching in the chair and sitting way too much in front and some ofter stuff.

IMO the awesome thing about that chair is, it kinda forces you to sit right and it makes those sitting positions that always felt uncomfortable for me with other chairs actually comfortable. I even can "slouch" by reclining but thanks to the seat pocket i dont slip out of a proper position and it just feels as if the chair perfectly matches your posture therefor producing a great fit while reclining around a pivot point that just keeps your weight distributed in a proper way (hard to describe really - thats how i feel it at least).

Recently i had one of those "sessions" where i literally sat for 24h straight - and normally i always felt my lower back being not so nice to me as well as tension in the neck area. This time i didnt had any issues with it.

I also hate it when chairs are rocky or unfirm in certain spots where they shouldnt be - in this regard the Embody is stable as a rock not going anywhere where its not supposed to go.

So far - thumbs up!

Does it make me a boss that I have a Humanscale Liberty and a Human Touch Perfect Chair?

FWIW I used a steelcase leap for 2 years and have recently benched it for a $200 office depot chair. Not being able to lean back and rest my head of a deal breaker for me. So if I could do it over I'd go with the steelcase leap lounger, although I know its absurdly expensive.

No.

However, poasting about it on the intarweb DOES make you a boss.

Anybody have a bungee desk chair? Just heard about these things and they sound comfortable. The Container Store sells some models which have glowing reviews, and they aren't that expensive at ~$140.

Will post again if I decide to pick one up.

Does anyone own The Verte Executive Ergonomic Chair? I get upper back pain from slouching forward while grinding and from what I've read, it's supposed to be a great chair for people with back pain. My only problem is it's really hard to find a consumer review. There are some "blog reviews" but I am not sure those reviews are non-biased.

I narrowed my search down to 5.

1) Steelcase Leap

2) Life by Knoll

3) Herman Miller Embody

4) The Verte Executive Ergonomic Chair

5) Ergohuman Mesh Ergonomic Chair with Headrest Black Mesh/Chrome Frame

I was almost exclusively set on the embody (largely due to this thread) but figured it'd be wise to put some actual research into it and so far have narrowed it down to these 5.

Any advice on which one is best for someone who has a bad habit of slouching forward onto the desk while grinding? Ideally, I'd like to get a chair that will promote good posture that will feel comfortable for me while grinding and will not make me want to slouch.

Thanks!

Picked up a pair of Ikea Markus for the wife and me.

Went there yesterday and told her they had been recommended by "boy forum". She sat down and said "Yep. That's the one."

The price sure seems like a bargain compared to the very top end stuff.

Ikea Markus gets a lot of good feedback here but I have an opposing view.

-no height adjustment
-barely any lumbar support
-no arm adjustments

I will say that it's much better than the no name cheapo computer task chairs being sold in most office depot type stores and quality is fairly good for the price.

I've had mine for 2years and cannot wait to replace it. Finally can afford something nice and very likely dumping this Markus for a Leap.
