I haven't purchased cigars in about 6 months because my humidor is pretty stacked, but these were my last 3 purchases.

Always have a minimum of 50 Cohiba Robustos in my stash, my favorite cigars especially the 2012's and 2013's

I have only smoked 1 of these so far the Cohiba 2014 EL, I smoked it on Xmas day or Xmas eve I can't remember. Easily one of the best tasting cigars I've ever had but the 58 ring gauge borders on obnoxious and it takes away from the enjoyment of smoking. I havent had one since for that reason.

I havent had one of these yet, been kind of looking to unload them. When they first came out they were going for $40 per stick and that's when I grabbed the box, then immediately thereafter they flooded the market and were going for like $30 per stick. I've read really great reviews on them though I just go for other things first.

Just getting into cigars now and read through this thread. Went and made my first purchase today including a 50 cigar starter humidor (came with cutters and carrying case) and some various cigars. Have done the first few steps of seasoning the humidor, and am using propylene glycol for the sponge as per the store clerk's reco. Box is still damp from the distilled water so humidity quite high now (~85%), but he said to leave it for 48 hours, then do it again and it should be ready a few days after that.

Should have a good variety of cigars, looking forward to the Rocky Patels that were highly recommended in this thread. The Cubans were too rich for my blood ($40+ per), so I stuck to Dominicans and South Americans for now. Will probably get friends to bring me some back in the future or next time I go down south. Some of these were just the cheapest they had ($4-5 per stick) so I'm sure they won't be great. The rocky patels were about $20 per which seemed high, but is probably just lolCanada.

Buy the cubans, some of the good ones are life changing.

There are some sources online who will ship to Canada discreetly so that you won't get dinged on the heavy tax burden.

Also start posting on cigar forums as you become friendly with Americans they will ship CCs to you in trades or buy/sell transactions

Rec for a reasonably priced box(es)? I am bringing cigars for 15-20 people at a bachelor party this coming week

Look into the CAO Osa Sol. I always give this cigar to friends who don't really smoke or first timers and always get good reviews. Boxes should be pretty reasonable

Loved the CAO Lx2 and excited to try the brasilia and Osa sol I got. Pretty meh on the Rocky 92, don't think I'd buy again at those prices (almost 20/per). Those small Jose Piedra Brevas cubans I got those are great utility/every day cigars at about $4-5ea.

Never like the Jose Piedras. The short filler always got in my mouth.

For cheap cuban alternative the h. Upmann 1/2 coronas go for about $125 per 25 count box. Also come in tins of 5.

Where do you get them at that price, Cuba? I'm seeing about $225-250/box

Very popular shop in Hong Kong has them for 115 per box. They ship to US. Not sure about CAN

Prob with CAN is that when everything gets here (alcohol and tobacco), customs at least doubles it. By those prices, the Jose Piedras are only ~2.50ea.

Will try the H.Upmanns next time I have a chance, maybe will look to pick up a box next time I'm in the US or somewhere hot.

Shop around there are some vendors who will ship discreetly. I know guy in Belgium will ship to CAN and write like collectibles on label

Paging real connoisseurs, which variation of the Padron anniversary series is the best? Or just the best padron you've had period? I've smoked a handful along the way and always forget to remember which ones they were.

I love the 1964. The entire line is great, but there is something special about the 1964 for me.

I'm sure this gets asked a million times a day, but here goes.

I want to pick up some cigars as a gift/celebratory smoke. The smokers in mind are all rookies.

One smokes a couple a year maybe (birthday, Christmas, etc), but I have no idea what brand, etc.

One is for all intents and purposes a virgin smoker (she has smoked a very rare hookah over the years).

The third is me. I smoke cigarettes socially and probably a cigar maybe yearly, but can't recall any particular ones I liked.

I'm traveling and in South America, so everything that you would see at an international airport is on the table.

I'm willing to spend "a bit" if it makes a difference, maybe in the US$20-30 a stick range.

Montecristo White Label, perfect rookie light smoke. Even experienced smokers will like them though.

Sounds great. Thanks. Are they likely to be available at duty free airport shops? A backup if they're not?

Should be available. Backup would not be my favorite but I think most light wrapper Macanudos would do the trick.

Thanks. I'll report back in ~2 weeks.
