Also, Phil Laak playing 10/20 at the Bellagio -- or I think it was Bellagio.

One of, if not the first 2p2 posts I copied and saved was Ed's [majorkong] post, which, holy crap I found the link to googling his old handle.

Why you guys aren't crushing these microlimit games

Hmm interesting prop bet. You'd have to be a very competent player to win, as long as you had a strong serve and a good volley I'm pretty sure you could totally negate his 'edge'. But you'd have to be quick, athletic, and knew what you were doing. Baren was a little asian dude from memory :P

your post is worthless without corrections, and it's not evident why your school membership has anything to do with this subject.

decent understanding of the game allowing me to pown high stakes back in the day
oh ya, and then when it starts drying up I start my instructional video site

Led by Lorinda, Strassa, ZJ, Irieguy, Citanul, Curtains, Gramps, Lacky, Bones, and many others, the 2p2 vanguard is slowly sorting it all out. "Slowly" in the SNG universe means like two months. Half of all posts in STTF are about variance, sample size, finish distributions, and bankroll requirements; the rest of the posts are people f'ing up the term stop-and-go. Yugo and Skipper Bob are communicating entirely in emoticons.
Haha. Good times. I was crushing the 215s on Party at this point.

One player to mention during the Paradise Poker era, when the biggest game on the net was 20/40 limit holdem, is ANGELINA. This was supposed to be Izmet Fekali's hot sister. Izmet was active on strategy forums at the time. There was a strong suspicion that ANGELINA was actually Izmet. You can see video of the supposed girl behind the ANGELINA name here.

Also, I can confirm that back then, 20/40 limit seemed like a huuuuuge game. I remember we used to wait for server resets and then pile onto the 20/40 game. The button wasn't randomised so you could sit on the button and you'd get 8 free hands before the blind hit you. So we'd just nit it up for 8 hands, hoping for aces, and then untick. I remember I got AQs one time and lost, I think that was the only hand I played...

For quite a while there was a glitch on pacific that allowed you to register for a tournament, unregister, then play the tourney anyway, effectively granting you a freeroll.

Games on Pacific remained pretty soft right up until the time they left the US market.

Fun read.

One event that comes to mind is Barry accepting a 10k prop bet to say "lol donkaments" on HSP, intending to donate the 10k to Children's Inc. Of course original 2+2'r welshed on the bet, but BBV rose up and ultimately donated over 25k to the charity.

Shneids 30k/30days thread ...probably had a lot to do with inspiring a lot of players to start grinding more hands.

Homers "Building a Bankroll" is a huge reason many of us didn't go bust before learning to beat the game. ditto for Algeo Magus "How to beat the Party $10 SnG's" post.

Same, you could be a braindead monkey, just follow the chart and make free money

Some of those casinos were shady as hell though.
