-Bonuswhoring in general (used to be such a big deal for me..played new sites all the time)
This died with Neteller immediately after the UIGEA, though, and that's the bigger story.

AliKings dominating the 200nl tables on party when the blinds where 2 4, and it was the biggest game.

The KKF vs. Prahlad games. KKF won like 160k or something in a day from Prahlad and everyone was going crazy about how much money it was.

Prahlad crazy river shoves that gave everyone fits.

Rakeback time lines were interesting. I have no clue of the dates.

Rakeback mostly on party network through empire poker and very underground and lots of spamming on the newsgroups.
Rakeback first advertised in 2p2 classified ads.
Rakeback war, as old affiliates are going crazy having their margins squeezed.
First ever rakeback sites formed, raketracker, pokerhand, others.
Rakeback on other sites gains popularity.
Party buy out empire and kill it off.
Rakeback listing sites, first one, idea seeming from the zoo forum.

Prima was also pretty early that had higher stakes that were running more regular than everywhere else. They had a $2/$5 nl full that ran often w/ GifOfGab, CowGame, liveone, ShipDaCheez and i and a 10/20 than ran usually heads up w/ liveone playing all comers. Anyone remember him?

Multitabling time line would also be interesting. astro being the first, davidross bringing it to the masses. Party allowing you to 4+ table.

It would be awesome to find out the dates and players of people who posted the first ever massive winning months and years. aba was one.

i have a little mini history in the introduction of my book which i believe is coming out in august. it was interesting to reflect that back in the day the "big game" of NL was 5/10 nl, compared to now we have 300/600...

you need the following:

party NL 1/2 to 2/4 and 50bb to 100bb
party 5/10 added
party 10/20 added
party 25/50 added
party split from other skins

mahatmas crushing UB high stakes
mahatma's collapse

you can also note that party 10/20, around october 2005 a few monthes after starting from june 2005 created the aggro 25/20 6 max stye. before that, very few rounders were anything but 18-25/10-14

zeejustin scandal
AP scandal

id also say that huge night i had against some tilter for 120k or so was big because before that many hsnl'ers were jsut taking small shots into the bigger games and after that it seemed like many players started playing 50/100 or bigger, this was also a few month after 10/20 nl had been going on party and many were making those 200-300+ hourly sums at that point.

should also be something about bldswttrs crushing as he set a standard like mahatma did for dominating a game.

and of course aba's rise which i actually totally missed. i have watched aba play maybe twice.

I was a SNG player from late 2005 on. I missed the prime when 109's were biggest on party and super easy. The refresh in (maybe Feb?) 2006 when all SNG's went to timed levels rather than number of hands was huge. Now SNG's are near impossible as they are a solved problem and most people know ICM.

bruiser had a bunch of hands where he would take the nittiest line possible. this was like early 2005 or late 2004 and it was diablo making fun of him alot if i remember correctly. i think jay/brusier/strass/gog were notable 2+2 hsnl players before party opened the bigger tables.

sameolus is notable as nobody else tomy knowledge has adopted his high vpip style while winning big.

according to unnamed sources in slovenia, derb went busto but still plays live and is convinced his game is a winner.

I think a shortstacking timeline would be funny.

Pinkprincess @ party 10/20
Itslinda and whoever else shortstacking 200/400+ on ftp
25/50 stars fr ssers
Germans shortstacking 25nl FR
etc

Also the party cruise debacle probably cost me a lot of money. I got the $400 but that caused me to not play on party

Woah. That's insane how someone can run sick hot for hundreds of thousands of hands.

I think Mattsuspect's World Series of Blackjack win on the same cruise is more important. Didn't he turn around and donate all the winnings back to the house?

c. 2006: Bonuses become smaller, less frequent, more difficult to clear. Casino whoring becomes popular among knowledgeable online poker players.

(?) Prahlad posting on 2+2 and getting ridiculed for claiming to have made 7 figures. El Diablo claims he is a decent player but has major leaks.

The evolution of slang would also be interesting. "Donkey" was not commonly used when I started playing, for example.

I remember Paluka telling me how big the 10/20 on Paradise (or Pacific maybe?) seemed when it was the biggest thing running.

I think you probably have to add the context of the WPT and the general rise in popularity of TV poker around 2004 as well.

the first successful shortstacker was "MyIntuition" at party 5/10. he was winning ~4bb in August 2005 over a large sample. everyone thought he was a ******, myself included
