Got a ticket for the Maine Dinner release next Saturday. Pretty stoked. Unfortunately I totally spaced out that I need to be in the new haven area that afternoon so I won't be able to hit up some Portland breweries on Saturday. Might airbnb the night before to break up the driving and hit up some breweries.

BCS chasers,

Whole Foods 5 days after Black Friday:

Plus about a dozen bottles of northwoods for $20.99.

I know where I’m buying mine next year!

That’s crazy. My Whole Foods didn’t get any. The stores around me that are well known as craft beer places sold out fast but some of the more obscure stores still have it on the shelves. Certainly not for 10.99 though. I bought 8 this year from 14.99 to 19.99

Whole Foods always gets tons of cases here. Regular is super easy to get - it sits for months. Def don’t have variants sitting around though.

whole foods in Indy isn't releaseing their BCBS until tomorrow. They do a 20% off beer/wine sale on black friday, and obv dont want to immediately discount fresh BCBS

I think it was in this thread, but someone posted a photo of regular sitting in a whole foods in NY I believe 5+ months after release.

It's funny how in some places it sells out within 24 hrs, in others you can find it many months later.

I'm trying it tomorrow night (doing the last 4 years with some friends), will report back!

Bleh.. I'm already off work tomorrow. Not sure if I have the motivation to drive all the way up to Whole Foods for a chance at BCBS. I wonder if they will have any variants.

I'm excited for Canadian Breakfast Stout to release this week. I had it on tap in NYC a few years ago and loved it. I think I posted a review...way back. I don't recall how I compared it to the other comps (Mornin Delight, Good Morning) but I remember loving it! I think.

jesus christ downtown. that suburb life is treating you well, i guess.

i've done a small amount of running around trying to score bcs and cbs, since i was out of chicago on black friday. have a bunch of regular, which is everywhere by the case, a few barley wine, a few northwoods, 2 reserve, 1 coffee. no prop. haven't seen northwoods near the prices el diablo is seeing in sf. like, 50-100% more expensive in chicago. wtf?

Got 6 CBS. Kind of gross spending $150 on beer especially since I’ll probably end up buying a few more.

I actually got 4 at meijer (Michigan based mega grocery) if anyone’s looking.

A lot of places around me won’t be getting it until next week

Also for Detroit folks they are selling 2 bottle allotments for pickup at their brand new Detroit taproom which opens on Monday.

Picked up a bottle of CBS this morning (limit 1), probably 20th in line of ~50 here in Seattle. Probably going to checkout Safeway and such a little later to see what they have, since the closest still had 3+ cases of reg BCBS two nights ago.

I'm soloing a Lizard of Koz tonight, and I think it's pretty great. Probably my favorite of the 3 bottles I've had. Almost to the point where I want to get some more bottles.

Did the '14-17 bcbs vertical tonight + our bcbs clone from 1.5 years ago. Did it blind.

All 3 of us shockingly picked '16 as our favorite. I'm really surprised, I didn't love it last year fresh compared to '15 fresh. Go figure, can't argue with blind!

2nd for me was '14, 3rd was '15, 4th was '17. They were more similar than I thought. Our clone was 5th for all 3 of us, it was obviously more sweet and rough around the edges, not unpleasant compared to these, but the 4 GI ones were superior. Best way to judge your own beer is blind against similar.

So I guess I should seek out more '16? Heh.

Problem buyers,

Wtf is wrong with me? Went to see if WF or liquor store had CBS. No dice, but somehow came back with this:

What am I doing? I JUST bought ten bottles of BCS!

idk how to post pics, but this is my fridge currently if someone can fix the link. I stocked up on 4 packs of 6 different Prairie variants+Bible Belt, 18 total BCBS Coffees (nothing else was available around here), and a few misc. beers.

from left to right excluding the BCBS in the back:

-Prairie Christmas Bomb
-Prairie Vanilla Noir
-Prairie Coffee Noir
-Prairie Noir
-Prairie Bourbon Paradise (I think this was distributed and sold illegally here since its 15.9% abv and the limit is 14%)
-Prairie Bomb
-Bible Belt (Prairie and Evil Twin Collaboration)
-Oskar Blues Death by Coconut
-1 Goose Island Brassiere Blanc (back left corner-I think I will age this or give it away because I had one bottle and neither me or my gf cared for it fresh)
-residual beers from other times (1 bottle aecht schlenkerla rauchbier märzen, 1 Catawba PB&J time, 1 Catawba King Coconut, 1 Ballast Point Watermelon Dorado, 5 Creature Comforts Tropicalia not pictured)

I plan to have some sort of tasting with 1-2 of each of the Prairie beers at some point, but not sure when to do that given this month makes it hard to pin people down for a day/night of drinking.

CDL,

Nice! I highly recommend doing it blind if you can. That’s always been really fun and often surprising to me and friends.

I guess I can’t be TOO jealous of your stock. I have a few in reserve too!

I’m contemplating a 14/15/16/17 BCBS tasting.

Speaking of that, I’m really impressed and slightly skeptical of those of you who can remember enough (even if you took notes) to distinguish between current and prior years fresh BCBS.

Super jealous of all the BCBCS here, so I'm having a Lagunitas High Westified from last year. It's still pretty great, and if I can get my hands on this year's version (Willetized), I won't be so jealous any more.

Also, love seeing these hoarder pictures because it doesn't make me feel as bad about my own problem.
