I really liked the galaxy fort point. I was going to go pick up some of that and skimpy sparrow when those get canned next week. I haven't tried the ddh fort point but hopefully they still have some when I go

This is a great place in Redmond, WA

malt and vine

I sampled the Nitro: Firestone Walker DBA, the Black Raven Trickster IPA (had this at a number of places in the Seattle area), and a Delirium Tremens. All are worthy brews that should be downed in quick succession for maximum benefit and optimal pleasure. Had other golden liquids but can’t piece together the chronology or the names through the perpetual purple haze of my long afternoon visit.

The amount of bottled brews available at this establishment is excellent and the variety is enough to satisfy the most snobbish to the least picky. I had to be removed from the premises by stretcher and was unable to grab any bottles in passing.

Snoqualmie pass tap room:

drubru

This place was a big surprise. We stopped in after a day-long hike in the area. The Hop Session IPA (ABV 4.7% - IBU 56) was one of the best I’ve had for smooth drinkability with all the great flavors of an IPA. The regular IPA was also excellent (ABV 6.4% - IBU 68). My friend had the Kölsch style German Ale, which I sampled, and thought excellent.

Visited various other brew pubs (Yard House in Seattle for example) and sampled many other golden nectars but can’t cut through the fog of food and beer consumed so specifics will have to go with me to the grave. As most know the area has some of the finest beers on the planet and I consumed some of it in scattered locations. And you did not.

The worst beer I had was some Korean brew in a bottle the size of the space needle. However, the Korean food was so superb, fiery, and delicious the subpar brew didn’t detract from the dining experience. I was able to bounce out of the restaurant under my own power. In fact the food was so good and powerful I felt like superman after the meal. Before the meal I only felt like Batman.

Always remember: Beer is Food.

Nice post Zeno. I am incredibly surprised two drubru beers and trickster were the only northwest beers to make your report. I actually have not been impressed with drubru at all, but I haven't had those two or been to the brewery yet.

Trickster is definitely everywhere .

Which Korean restaurant did you end up visiting? If you remember I might go for the food and skip the beer.

Zeno,

Was the Korean beer OB?

El,

Yes indeed. I hope you have consumed OB in vast quantities. It means your soul can take a pounding and still stand strong.

Stabn,

Stone Korean Restaurant. Recommended by my old friend who through circumstances seemingly beyond his control married a South Korean. They think it the best Korean restaurant in the area.

Also ate at the Roanoke Inn on Mercer Island. They have a selection of local brews and I had a pale ale and an IPA but the names escape me. Names mean less and less the older you become.

Had this on tap at Liquid Gold (in SF) last night:

Pretty good, I think more beers need maple syrup. In related news, I think I got a little drunk.

Then you really need to get your hands on double stack. Best dark beer I've had, tastes like breakfast.

For anyone in the UK beerbods is a pretty good deal. I signed up a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it.

Deal is £36 for 12 weeks and they send you 12 beers. You're supposed to drink one per week - they announce it on the website and give notes etc on a Thursday.

They were doing a charity thing today and had 60 bottles for sale with a 1/person max. Got there in time to snag bottles 57 and 58. Quite stoked. Lechedor is my favorite beer from NSB and when I had it on tap, I thought that the apple brandy aging was a nice upgrade on the base beer.
Just saw some of the reviews on this one, sweet baby jesus I want to taste it.

gangi,

interesting. One of the worst beers of the year for me. Maybe extreme to say that but fell way, way flat of expectations for me, after hearing it hyped up in a few places.

Puff is a weird one for me. I enjoyed it, it wasn't a Resin or Hi-Res, but it was pretty good. Then the hype train came around and everyone kept saying it was a great beer, so I tried it again. Still just pretty good. Would prefer the Resin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

supplication/consecration are widely distributed fwiw, easy to find in a lot of stores on the west coast. Pliney is tougher of course.

Dobis Plus*
We love Citra hops! This IPA balances the drinkability of Dobis PA with the intense Citra aroma & flavor of Double Dobis. This is straight up dank pineapple juice. IPA ~ 6.5 % ABV / 60 IBU

Those all sound great!

Another to keep an eye out for is modern times attack frequency.

Pretty sure all of the cans were bought during the online sale, but maybe some kegs will see distribution?

I couldn't make it downtown to MT so had to pass. Picking up Vietnamese Speedway tomorrow though

Picked this one up today never seen it before not super sour like a barrel aged but a nice sour note.

Had Siren/Omnipollo collab Barrel Aged Life is a Peach yesterday.

Fantastic stuff. Bretted peach and vanilla IPA aged in chardonnay barrels. Works really well; the peach doesn't really come through aside from in a general fruitiness but tbh that makes me happy, since overly fruity fruit-based beers have never been something I've enjoyed as much as the billing and widespread love suggests I should (I quite like fruity lambics but the whole 'grapefruit IPA' thing like High Wire Grapefruit and Elvis Juice is not up my street). The brett adds a nice, but not overpowering funk, and the white wine flavours definitely fit in really well.
