Good evening, all. It's summer once again and although I'm a couple days late, I always come through.

Lying in bed in our Airbnb after a longish hot day. But this view is kinda nice.

Martinis are the summertime drink of the wise and sophisticated. John Cole sucks them down in unusual quantities. Or at least he should!

i bet the other four senses are even more enjoyable.
soak it all in john and don't let your toes turn into sun sponges.

The limeys stole everything they could and so did the frogs! First-rate theft! And they have the museums to prove it.
06-23-2023 , 11:11 PM
And don’t forget the Russians, epic thieves of monster proportions. So are the Chinese.

In fact, all nations steal. Some are just better at it or have more opportunities than others. If it’s worth having it’s worth stealing! A bedrock fact of civilization! From the most primitive to the most sophisticated!!

I'm in. This is what I think of when thinking of Summer:

Baseball in London? What's the point! I see the MLB is following the NFLs lead of sending some of the crappiest non-competitive teams over there. They can keep the Cubs

Um, to develop a new market?

I have wondered why baseball has never taken off here, since we like sport, probably invented it, and will queue around the block to buy almost anything American.

Dom, daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law.

Picture doesn't quite do the view justice.

Here's the view at night:

Baseball is too complicated for most limeys. They can barely understand soccer. And American football is so far above them they just stare at the screen and drool into their overpriced beer.

Are there any gods left hanging around up there? Or was that Mt. Olympus?
06-24-2023 , 06:00 PM
That is ridiculous.

The closest I ever got to Greece was anchoring outside of Rhodes. The first liberty launch in (full of bigwigs and high ranking officers) got turned around from protesters hurling rocks and chanting "Americans Go Home!" I guess Greeks don't really understand economics. 5000 drunken sailors spend a lot of money (all their money) in a primo liberty spot like Rhodes. Their loss was Taranto Italy's gain I guess. And Taranto Italy sucks
