Coachella lineup looks sick, except for the headliners, which are kind of lacking imo, but I have probably been spoiled by previous Coachella headliners.

I've given it a couple of more listens and it's a total rip-off fest, which is kind of distracting to me.

On Blue Mountain sounds like an Under My Thumb and Suspicious Minds medley (eg 1:12-2:00). Oh Yeah is also, in parts, a rip-off of a song I can't for the life of remember the name of. I can't even keep track of how many times this happens throughout the album.

Now I love all of their influences but I guess I was hoping they would go for something a little bit more personal this time around. I still quite like the album, but for me it's no better than a weak 7/10. Shuggie and San Francisco are the top two tracks imo.

Yea, a lot of Stones, Pavement, Lou Reed, Dinosaur Jr. etc throughout ... there's nothing new under the sun

I really like the new Strokes. I may be the only one.

I just got excited for the new Strokes. The falsetto is awesome and any step towards Phrazes For The Young is a good step.

Vaulted to the top of my must see live list. Anyone comment on how they are live? That song is in my top 10 for last year, no doubt.

*not to live too much in the past, it is 2013 now*

Judging by the new single, I think can say already that Bonobo's upcoming album will be album of the year for me.

I agree. Almost every band alive that I want to see is playing, though the headliners are the weakest in years. Both Phoenix and RHCP have already headlined Coachella within the past few years and were kinda forgettable. The Stone Roses would have been an awesome headliner if it was still 1988. I'll be at the Sahara tent at night this year.

Coachella has zero incentive to spend money on their headliners now that they can sell-out two weeks with B- and Indie acts. The strategy puts an extra couple mil in their pockets. Don't think you'll see a Radiohead sized act there again for a while.

Dunno, sounds a bit like Casablancas' solo stuff (with some added guitars) and I really like that. And I really like this song as well. It's a perfect development for the band to me. I've been utterly uninterested in the new Strokes until now.

Fwiw this is not the first single, or at least that's what I've heard. Just a sample the band felt like releasing.

My only worry is that the album won't be consistent.

i d/l'd a bunch of bonobos off some pretty strong recs but it just sounds like background music to me.

The new Tegan and Sara album, Heartthrob, has leaked. They've departed from their usual style in favor of synthpop, and it's infused with more than enough retro sound selection to keep it from sounding Billboardy. Solid album.

For some reason Peace have gone and recorded a worsened version of Follow Baby for their debut album. I don't get why they had to change anything given the old version was more or less perfect.
