Wow, would love to see that (and paging Private Joker).

They're doing the popular Georgia-Taiwan touring circuit.

The new Still Corners is pretty fantastic. It's on Pitchfork advance.

Not in love with the new Deerhunter -- needs less Bradford, more Lockett imo.

Oooohhh the Savages album is streaming too. 2013.

Ya that's groovy.

i saw mangum solo a while ago and while i think it's cool that NMH are getting back together, does it really matter other than it being mangum playing with a full band? like, he could hire 3 high school kids to back him up and it would sound the same. main difference imo is maybe somebody will actually bring a trumpet and play it instead of the crowd pretend-buzzing through the horn parts on "holland 1945".

I saw Mangum also and agree with this, the music won't be that much different. Something about an "official" reunion after 15 years off just makes it a cooler moment imo.

In theory a good amount of music can be duplicated by solid cover bands, but for various/obvious reasons there is something about seeing the original version in as true a form as possible.

Like that Still Corners track.

Chance the Rapper's new mixtape Acid Rap is out

Best previewed track from it:

Hated on Kitty Pryde earlier itt, and it's still a bit too tumblry and twee rap or something for me, but for what it is I think this song is quite good:

Also, Suicideyear - Japan

Can't stop listening to his Miguel/Mariah Carey track.

Also think Private Joker mentioned CHVRCHES earlier in the thread, their new remix of MS MR's Hurricane is really good.

Both Modern Vampires and Trouble will find me are very good

Agreed the new vampire weekend is really really good

Trouble Will Find Me is just incredible.

Has a much more Alligator/Boxer feel than High Violet. Pink Rabbits is the best National track since Fake Empire.

Assuming most of these bands can still bring it, that's a pretty sick lineup. I wish I'd have known about this before my friend starting posting FB updates about it last night. Love Jackson Browne thrown in for sheer randomness. Also as a bonus, it's probably not 110°, and doesn't cost $30,000 to rent a house for the weekend.

still deciding how i feel about new national. it feels a little subdued and there are some kind of uncharacteristically blunt lyrical bits that come off almost... i dunno, lazy. but their albums typically grow on me and i've loved the last few, so i'll probably be happy with it.

also, the random violent femmes lyric interjection is either brilliant or ******ed, not sure yet.

Just was looking at the ACL lineup. Am I drastically underrating Depeche Mode and The Cure's popularity or are those pretty big reaches for a big time two weekend festival in 2013?
