that's a link to a video that touches pretty broadly on the shoegaze genre. it's part of a series of videos that the guy in the videos (ex-p4k writer chris ott) has been doing. i'm not sure how many here will be into it, but he just posted this one yesterday and it's one of his more accessible vids. regardless, if you're into criticism or just want to hear some facts you may have not known, these vids are really excellent. ott has a wealth of knowledge and opinions, and is very passionate about music in general.
i would recommend everyone watch this one in which he discusses bruno mars' "locked out of heaven" and how it relates to the police. it's a great intro to what he (ott) kind of does.
That's pretty crazy. I'm def going to check it out bc I first heard that Bruno mars song a few days ago and also thought it sounded like the police a bit
Well, since I'm lazy and prefer my iTunes to autosync with my iPod, I'm down to about 11,500 in iTunes at the moment, since that's all that will fit on the iPod. However, I have about another 6-7,000 tunes that were in my iTunes and have been deleted, but are still on my hard drive in folders I can easily reimport into iTunes if I get the hankering.
But at home, I'm usually playing vinyl that's to in my iTunes, anyway.
I have like 4k but I was never a mass downloader. If I only liked one or two songs I would just get those songs, where as I know a lot of people who would just download whole albums. I've basically stopped downloading music at this point unless I really like a band and I want to support them. With Spotify on my computer and Sirius in my car there really isn't a need to download a bunch of stuff. I've also deleted a bunch of stuff that I stopped liking.
Anyone else real into itunes play count? I used to be super anal about it making sure the track played all the way through so it would count. Top 3 - Feist - my moon my man, 336 plays. Kanye - can't tell me nothing, 259 plays and Feist - I feel it all, 214 plays. I was really into those songs I guess during my online grinding days in 08/09 I guess.
Re 2013: At 26 last year I broke my festival cherry by going to Coachella. I'm trying to go to a bunch more festivals this year but my work schedule doesn't really permit. Ideally Coachella again and I have this strange urge to try to go to Ultra, too.
