cool thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm gonna check out most all of these. funny, I already have dawn of midi after hearing about them on radiolab. good stuff.
Has anyone seen CHVRCHES live? My sister roped me into going to a show with her, I like what I've heard of theirs but I've never really seen any electropop or whatever you call it acts live, just wondering what to expect.
^I haven't listened to the entire thing yet but love it so far. Afterlife, Normal Person, Reflektor are all great off the top of my head.
Really enjoyed this 20 minute live performance that was produced as a mini-movie. It features Michael Cera, Aziz Ansari, Rainn Wilson, James Franco, and some others I can't recall.
Surprised to see so little discussion of Arcade Fire album. I think it's their poppiest album yet and is very good.

Definitely agree that it's a lot to digest but it's certainly worth it. Just finished my sixth time through and it has gotten better with every listen. One of my favourite albums of the year for sure.
Had the pleasure of seeing Darkside perform live the other night at Mountain Oasis festival in Asheville, NC. Nothing short of breathtaking. They pretty much played the album in order from start to finish and I just couldn't stop smiling. Nico never disappoints. The live version of "Freak, Go Home" was insane. They start their North American tour in January. I'm not sure where I'll be residing at the time, but I'm going to try and catch at least one of them.
new AF sounds like they want it to be their "sandinista."
it isn't.
I didn't know till yesterday that James Murphy had produced the whole thing. Way too much LCD influence on it sometimes for my taste (and I love me some LCD).
Btw does someone know the story behind the guitar work on "Normal Person". I know a band like AF are musical gods with their backgrounds in music, so how do you let that guitar lead make it on to the album? It literally sounds like the way I played solos when I was 14.
