The Pixies support gig for Throwing Muses where the crowd demands an encore is pretty special. They go back out, but at that point have burned through most of their material.

And yeah, Thee Oh Sees destroy live.

In other news, Mazzy Star are releasing an album. First single: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=oEf1Qq6upEU

Probably not quite in the wheelhouse of this thread, but god I hope to see them live.

Single doesn't have me too too stoked but not sure Mazzy and single make much sense to me. It's awesome news at any rate. I'm too broody to see them in concert but here's to hoping they do a bunch of shows.

New Yuck track

i was a big fan of their last album and have me really interested to here what they come up with after the lead singer left

new ZOMBY album is really good.
one of the best releases this year so far and universes away from dumb hype crap for people with no party and drugs experience like eg disclosure.

For me the Zomby album was one of the dissapointments of the year. Why it was 33 tracks I don't know? Seemed lazy, unfinished production imo, recycling the same drum samples over and over. Was a big fan of dedication though.

I really like this 'dumb hype crap, for the inexperienced druggies' remix

I think I'm up to date with music, then I hear "this a great song by xyz, old album was great" and then I'm lost...

ADD or sth lol.
it's the opposite of lazy, other producers would make 5 albums out of this material.
for me:
'with love' and 'where were u in 92?' > dedication.

and i hate totally enormous extinct dinosaurs!

listening to paradinas' music for ~15yrs now.
i recommended his other recent work "heterotic" earlier itt.

Chewed Corners, then, is less a return to form than it is a return to innocence, an informed recreation of a time when one might have found oneself in some warehouse illegally trespassing to incomprehensible white label records under the indefatigable influence of drugs. None of today’s rave-aping artists like Unicorn Kid are capable of anything as authentic and subtle as this.

Those who remember those days or the classic Artificial Intelligence compilations know what euphoria means in this context, and Chewed Corners, its title now imbued with meaning, constitutes a complex chemical high from which there’s hardly any reason to come down.

This semi-new Phoenix album is pretty cool IMO.

God damn it, Surfer Blood with a full length one i havent seen. Gonna get through that one now. Is this their first non EP/single-release?

SubRosa is one of my favorite bands atm. You should check them out if you're also sick of all the ****ty indie rock.

My favorite female vocalist, Tori Kelly:

Those are just two of many amazing covers she has on YouTube.

If you enjoyed those, I would recommend downloading her EP.

Also, two songs that have been bangers in the car:

ASAP Ferg is slowly becoming one of my favorite rappers. And French Montana's verse blows.

Do not recommend downloading his album.

New AlunaGeorge is streaming on their site (has been for a few days I think)

Yay, Rich Homie Quan itt, nice. Disagree with you though regarding the mixtape not being worth a download. Well, I sort of get it since it's not really best listened to from front to back, his style becomes a bit tiring that way. But for sure quite a few nice tracks on there imo. Re Ferg I like Shabba too.

Would like to recommend a few other rap projects that people might not be up on:

Ka - The Night's Gambit (album)

Illfightyou - Illfightyou (mixtape)

Lucki Eck$ - Alternative Trap (mixtape)

meh. i'm a fan of this genre but didn't even get through this song. their vocalist is really weak. i'll just wait for a new pallbearer record.
