Few weeks old but pretty good. Was a big fan of their first album and looking forward to the new one coming in mid August.

Listening to The Maine's new album. Had heard a couple songs from the band before, and was really skeptical. Had no idea they had new material out, and no intentions to listen, but I read a really positive review on another forum, saying that they're nothing like before. First couple songs off the album remind me of what I knew of them, easy listening, pop rock, done decently. But as the album goes on, I find more and more elements that I really like. I'm sure many here will have the same expectations going into it as I had, but I'm also sure some of you will really like at least a few of the songs.

*Just got back from seeing Wu-Tang. I'm all shook, best live hip-hop I've ever seen. What a show. *

So it' new, but in their honor:

Cringing at this question. Form your own opinion, if you don't like something, you don't like something.

Till Kanye relaxes on the autotune stuff I can't enjoy his music. It's just getting ridiculous now (to me). One trick pony.

Some of the beats are nice/interesting, but then I'd rather an instrumental at that point.

i mean, there are a lot of very valid criticisms of kanye, but "one trick pony" is just not one of them.

kanye is the most elite troll of all time

Enough time has passed so I'm not just saying this because I'm hyped. Do I Wanna Know is the greatest rock song I've heard in a long time.

Yeah, that's definitely one of my favourite recent songs.

new jay cole is awesome

New Earl Sweatshirt is great. Since Vince Staples has a really nice verse on it, I'm gonna recommend again his recent album Stolen Youth for those who might have missed that one. And Kevin Gates' new album Stranger Than Fiction dropped today and should be good.

That's awesome, sort of what I imagine the 80's Pixies shows to be like, minus the long track length.

Having seen some 80s pixies stuff on Yootoobz, that's a pretty apt comparison. There's actually a Pixies thread in Politics Unchained.

These guys are maybe a bit more out of control than the Pixies, who were a very disciplined band. The first Pixies stuff I've seen is from 1986, from a show in Boston where they sound great. I think their first album is 1987.
