This band is so fun! Ridiculously catchy and sounds fresh imo. However i'm sure i'll be sick of the first tune before the summer hits, it will be played to death on UK radio.

Dr. John's Locked Down is very good. Black Keys and Dan Auerbach are on at least a few tracks.

Kind of hard to explain the distinction though and maybe it's just something I made up.
It's just the difference between, say, The Lucksmiths, and She & Him. Sorta.

46 years before 2012 was, and probably still is, the greatest year for rock and popular music ever. Still.*

Oh wow, The Lucksmiths. Damn I miss them. Easily the most clever lyricists this side of Trashcan Sinatras, with catchy melodies to boot.

The Santigold album is a distillation of the good part of MIA without everything I hate about MIA. Can't imagine this not making my top 10 of the year.

I've listened to it a lot...especially the first two songs. It hasn't grabbed me like her first did, but it's ok.

I'm looking forward to the new Hives record coming out in a couple weeks. I heard one song on the Fifa 12 soundtrack and it rocks still after I've heard it 500 times. I play a lot of fifa...

Totally hooked on the new Saschienne album. For those who like Portishead/massive attack style stuff, this is a must.

Title track:

question: if I put that inside of I also get a blank video that says the video isn't available. What am I missing?

The Killer Mike album is instant classic. Tune from that and some other tunes:

This is from last year, but really into it now and I think many missed it (play loud on good headphones/system):

Instant classic is too strong, but I really liked Killer Mike on the first couple of listens.

New Beach House? Sounds just like the other albums and I'm perfectly fine with that. I missed seen them last week because I delayed buying tickets and for some reason didn't expect it tk sell out.

Also, after wondering into some of the rave tents at Coachella I've started listening to a lot of that dance/electronic stuff, primarily the stations on Sirius. Any suggestions in that department.
