What was responsible for the biggest "leap" in your game ?

When will I have to run and hide from you at 100-200 ?

Im 28 and currently live in Texas but im ridiculously proud to be English!!

I began playing poker in about 2004 after watching WSOP coverage in England and started by depositing $50 into Pacific poker and grinding the very small SnGs and building something of a roll. My roommate at the time then found cash games and i began to dabble in those starting at 200nl. I will say that at the time you could only one table on Pacific and therefore a lot of the grinders who would of at that time destroyed my soul were not present as they were playing other sites where you could multi table. Within about 6 months of playing i was short stacking 600nl, which was the highest game they had available at the time, without actually knowing what short stacking was. I would sit with $120 and then when i hit $300 would leave and join another table. It certainly wasnt frowned upon at that time and even if it had been i wouldnt of cared as i wasnt spending time in forums etc. After rat holing the game for a few months i then began playing full stacked and stayed in that game until i decided to move back to the US about 4 years ago. My family were all living in Texas at the time and after getting my law degree i felt i might as well enjoy the cheaper cost of living in the States so i went for it. I withdrew all of my roll and made the plunge Stateside. After Pacific banned US players i joined FT and began playing 200nl. However it was at this time that i become involved in 2+2 and also got PT and realized that playing my 11/4 style wasnt going to work in the changing game. I then went down to 50nl/pl and decided to work on my game and retool it before moving back up. That was two years ago and for whatever reason i havent left $50nl/pl despite being rolled to play anything up to about $400nl. Not really sure why i havent moved up, i guess i just feel comfortable here.

Going to use this to drop a mention to the 2010 WSOP Grind House members. We are going to have a blast this summer for sure.

By best i mean the people that give me the most trouble / i respect most

xxIpwnunoobsxx, xxSleekestxx

Worst, sadly is xxEastlandxx

edit: Most players that i consider the best arent playing micro games anymore as they only use it as a stepping stone to bigger games.

2+2 was the biggest reason i improved as a player, although having a base of poker players on AIM/Skype to talk to sure helps

I have started playing some $100 but i wouldnt think you need to worry about me

Hm, let me rephrase that question.

What was the single biggest epiphany you had that you feel massively improved your game ?

Ok let me try again I guess its when i began to understand ranges and was able to adjust my game more to deal with ranges rather than trying to put a player on a specific hand.

FWIW, I'm a Newcastle fan. I'm hoping Sunderland are going to stick around in the PL so we can play again next season

I saw Spain at 4.5:1, and Brazil at 5:1.

How good of a strat would be betting both real big. And then putting in some on England for a good sweat ?

I feel like either Brazil or Spain has a better chance than 2:1 overall to win, am i underestimating the WC ?

I cant comment on what i think about Newcastle United. I know people think the Red Sox and Yankees have a rivalry but until you have witnessed some of the rivalries in English football you dont truly understand what one is.

Football is all there is in England and it can consume people whereas in American sports they are around for 3 months and then are replaced by an equally popular sport

I think that Spain at 4/1 are a great bet but before i would bet on it i would look at the groups and plan out teams progresses so that you can see potential matchups later in the competition.

Spain and Brazil are by far the best teams and i would think one of them will win it. Outside shot on someone like Germany, who despite not having a flashy team can put it together for a two week period

In five years i will probably be playing a lot less poker and hopefully have a family. Going to use this summer as a last hurrah for poker and then see what happens from there
