A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except Wednesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer" . The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: Why not on Wednesday? and the voice from in the well shouts back: Because on Wednesday, its your day in the well .

I am going out atm, be back in a few hours hopefully coherent . I've spent many hands at teh micros due to me withdrawing constantly so I figure I'd do it down here, plus I hang out here often.

Through which stakes does ABC poker remain profitable?

Whenever I start making more moves on people, I feel like it often leads to me spewing more. In general, how often are you making moves on people, and how often do you recommend doing it, as opposed to just playing ABC and the value of your cards?

biggest tell in the micros (25NL if possible)?

how long did it take you to get past each level (i.e. 25NL to 50NL, 50-100NL, etc) to where you play today?

most important skill for a microstakes grinder?

What rules do you follow for bankroll management (standard 20 buyins) and when do you advocate taking a shot at the next level?

Thanks for doing this sir. I am a fellow ShipIt club member :P

Bear with mev. , I have a ton of Jameson in my system. I'll try to type well.

Obv story, I played cards before the moneymaker boom fun games like draw and stud and eventually nlhe when it was on tv, starting playing online at party in 05. naturally thought i was gods gift to poker and blew through 50 bucks pretty quickly (damn rigged blackjack). I played mostly sit and gos with some 6m cash, had no idea what I was doing essentially but the games were so bad it didnt matter. From summer 06 to summer 07 i played anywhere form 25-200 depending on when i last withdrew. i had money on bodog at one point. eventually i cashed it all out, took 3rd in an rtr freeroll for 800 on absolute, took my money the **** outta there and then grinded from summer 07 to now.

J9d is always a favorite no idea why

I dont really have a worst poker memory, best would be winning the first live donkament i entered with about 30 people. I twas like 20 bucks but i was on top of the world.

with the state of the games today, you can prob play abc PROFITABLY through 100 maybe 200. now netting a profit doesnt mean 4ptbb. i'm saying you can beat the rake essentially. In tmers of achieving a decent winrate, you can probably still do it at 100 with decent game selection. I usually only make moves on regs with history. I dont think at lower stakes you should be making moves on people with history.

Student indeed

I read NLTAP but honestly books haven't done much for me

Prob my grandpa that died when I was 2. My dad always tells great stories about im and it sucks that I dont even remember him

I don't even remember making the user name. I mean I watch the show sometimes but i have no idea what came over me when making the user name. TBH those sketches were funny but not due to ferrell, all the credit should go to connery

Whiskey if i add another choice, but of those three id have to say rum.

1. This is obviously not standard the only time i shouted at poker is 1. fire drills (****ing tilted the **** outta me last 2 years) and internet problems.

2. 21 in Sept

3. I live off of Snapple iced tea, JD straight up if we talkin alcohol.

4. I have deposited before, but currently this is all from the RYTR freeroll.

5. I play for income, if i play ****ty home games with my friends then its for glory, but i dont really find myself having a huge e-peen

6. Always been baseball, grew up in the bronx so had to like the Yankees. we have the ****tiest fans but I get to about 6-7 games a year and actually follow the team. i hate how the yankees have so many poser and bandwagon fans. also lol giants won the super bowl.

7. Im mentioning relatives way too much but the one grampa i met has to be it. I cant even imagine being on a poor farm in Ireland leaving everything behind coming to the US with absolutely nothing. that is a risk i cant even imagine and although that is typical of many immigrants even today, its nuts, and kinda reminds me how good i have it

8. Favorite poster, ugh. Ill come back to this one tomorrow

9. Nothing really comes to mind in terms of skill. Largest pot I won was a live 2/5 game where I had KT vs AA on a KT3 board. and stacked the guy. Pot was 1200ish.

10. I don't wathc much tv, but if fresh prince is on, i wont turn it off.

11. i have no idea how to do this across databases

I've sat at 5/10 online before, probably 10 hands. I've played 3/6 6m on bodog before.

Nothing too exciting. ive taken down a few random ones few years ago, 10 and 20 dollar buyins. Ive cashed in the FTOPS before nothing over 1k though. I despise donkaments essentially

Accept my fake and well talk about it, also deal at a better room?

Probably O8 either limit or PL.

**** im tired Ill get back to this tomorrow.

Probably some pervy things

I love watching Moneymaker, he's always facepalming, busting, highly entertaining stuff.

Depends on my mood

not necessarily a weekend activity but i bowl a lot shpi 190 avg

In general I would say tits, but there is nothing better than a great ass.

I'm doing this to AVOID econ hw not talk about it. Unemployment plz!

This is impossible to answer with 100% certainty, probably something by Metallica, for whom the bell tolls

I hate people who consciously count drinks. I have a friend who annoys the **** out of me counting his beers bragging about how he's pounding 20 tonight. Then he's puking after his 11th. I guess one night after shooting soco 100 every time my friend won a hand at 10NL on ftp (he's a blufftard and theres no FE on a Fri night at 10NL so we weren't shooting constantly), we played 2 games 21 cup with 151, natty light, and more soco 100. No spewing for me.

Gotta love Canberra since nobody knows its the capital.

Timing tells are pretty obvious, especially since a good amount of the players down there arent playing >1-2 tables.

The problem is i've played random levels at different times. I've been pretty lucky to never have a significant downswing (**** now here it comes) by that I mean >10BI. If we are talking about just since summer 2007, I started nl25 with 200 bucks. I breezed through that moved to 50 with 500 and by Sept I was at 100 with around 1700. I haven't played lower since and now I mix 100+200.

I think micro players need to learn the positional advantage better, as proven by the tons of stat posts we see here where the stats are so similar across positions. Also they need to stop checking the turn in many situations under the guise of "pot control"

I kinda talked about it already, I was pretty aggressive with my br bc I have beaten the levels before. I think 15 buyins are enough up to 100, especially if you are willing to move down.

I always played card games with my dad like rummy and then started playing with my friends in HS. Then the boom came.

I haven't experienced burnout probably since I don't play a ton of hands so for now I'm just using it for income and entertainment. For aspirations, I don't really see myself making a living out of it. I'd like to keep moving up as far as I can but well see what happens.

I was playing PLO for the first time in my life live .25/.50. I had 68XX on a 57992 board. I c/c the turn and river He had a boat.

It's bad that I really don't pay attention, and it's probably even worse to say it doesn't matter. NJ is going to vote democrat no matter what I do, and since senior citizens are the people who vote, that is who the candidates are trying to please. This is why I'm fairly apathetic, but I guess if I had a gun to my head I would vote for Obama.

I actually don't even know how to play craps, i've always been told you can lose everything you have in the matter of seconds in that game, so i've avoided it. So roulette if given the choice.

1. Should the shooter in speedle's avatar be called for a foul?

2. I play up and down the stakes also. I have a bugaboo with 100NL. I can effectively run OK at all other levels... I do pretty well at 400NL, though it's only a 7K hand sample. Do you have a level that seems tougher? Also, I DO see differences between the levels. What are some that you spot?

3. Name three posters that you would like to see follow you into The Well.

4. How many tables do you play. When you play up and down stakes, do you actively play a different amount of tables at one time?

5. Do you have experience short-stacking?

6. You mentioned a favorite non-premium (J9). I have one too. Obviously -EV, but what can we do about it?

7. Do you think (given the availability of time and space) you could play for 24 hours straight?

8. I am strictly a cash player and don't fair very well with the RTR freerolls. About half the time I make it into the money....barely cashing anything tho. I was in one of the high MGR tourneys a few months back (limited to top 200 I think) and made FT, got runner-runnered by Jamie Gold to bust out 9th. (Brag?). Are there any secrets to success that you have gleaned with your tourney successes? How can I do better TODAY!!!???????

Do you think raising small pocket pairs 22-88 in the first 3 seats are profitable?

How would you play JJ or QQ from the blinds to a fairly tight (eg stats of 12/7) opener from middle position? Do you 3bet preflop or just call? If you just call and the flop comes all low cards like 10 6 4, would you re-raise his cont bet although this would seem to fold out better hands or would you flat it and allow a free card to come off and see what he does on the turn? If you 3bet, and the flop comes all low cards, and he raises your cont bet, do you get it in, or fold?
