PF: Questionable. I know opening 44 UTG+2 isn't great but I try to mix in a couple of low pair combos in my EP open range.

Flop: C-Betting with my entire UTG open range on this flop. When opponent calls I figure he has an overpair/top pair combo i.e. 67s or 56s.

*this is where it starts to go downhill*

Turn: Perfect card for me, I check but am really not sure whether this is correct or not. I have a reasonably high C-bet % so I want this to look like I had a broadway hand and want villain to bet for value. Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

When villain bets I don't want to polarise my range and just recall. Again, not sure whether I should've just 3-bet here.

River: 7 brings 4 to a straight, and potential FH with either 67 or 77 (both of which villain could have) so I decide to donk a pot size bet . Is this a check/call spot? Seems very nitty.

Villain then jams for another $3.20 or so more to call which of course I do.

Would appreciate some feedback as i think this an interesting hand.

I'll let you know what villain had in the comments.

You haven't mentioned anything about the villain type in your analysis. Regardless it's best to keep betting. You want to build the pot with your monster hand and that's a lot harder to do if you potentially lose a street of betting. As you say yourself villain could well be on an open-ended straight draw and you could potentially be losing out on money that he'd be willing to spend on drawing one of his outs. If you're going to check, you may as well go for the check-raise. You might get some value from any 5's or 6's.

As played your pot-sized donk bet looks very strong and he still shoves over you. There isn't much you beat here apart from maybe 55/65/54 if villain is very poor and can't read a board well. You are getting like 5.5/1 on the call so it's probably correct to call unless villain is a total nit and there's zero chance he doesn't do this with a larger FH.

Didn't have any stats on villain as this was my first game at 10NL.

He had 66 for quads, so I was behind the whole time. Feels like a cooler but I'm trying to learn from it.

I guess on the river I need to bet smaller in order to get more calls from the straights, as a lot of players (especially at higher level) will fold their straights to a pot sized bet. Bet smaller, and re asses if I villains comes over the top. If I'm given 3/1 or less on the river I'm folding.
