Hey guys! WhiskeyJack here, looking for some help. I am a somewhat bad player, but i've had some experience. I have played(and won) some live tournaments, but still struggle at 2 NL. Now, on to the hand.
Preflop: Hero is CO with T A
UTG raises to $0.06, MP folds, Hero raises to $0.16, 2 folds, BB calls $0.14, UTG calls $0.10
Why 3Bet here? I've seen the villian call wide Pre-Flop with hands like 78s and other suited connectors. Also, i wanted to know where i was at and also had position.
Here is where i am perplexed. I felt he would check-raise with AQ since my image has been pretty aggro and i checked the turn. I knew he didn't have AK, KK, AA, or QQ since he would 4 bet those. So at this point, i felt i should've called because all the obvious draws missed. To be honest - i never expected what happened next.
Spoiler:
Results: $2.39 pot ($0.08 rake)
Final Board: 6 A 5 2 Q
UTG showed 4 3 and won $2.31 ($1.20 net)
Hero mucked T A and lost (-$1.11 net)
I don’t mind the 3 bet as long as you know it’s in your 3B bluff range since if you get 4 bet you’re folding. The 3 bet should be a bit larger say 0.24-.28 to isolate the weak player you describe. If that happens and he calls you’re pretty much screwed on this runout regardless (unless you can find a hero fold)
Fold preflop here. As played, Fold river. If he raises from mp or lp, and has high fold to 3bet, you can 3bet (more), with AT, expecting a fold preflop.
