I wanted to keep my range wider in this spot as it's pretty common with the big pairs. If I bet, am called and the turn goes check/check, I don't love my spot on the river if he bets out (maybe I should...?). I felt this way I keep more of his range in the hand checking, so if he fires on the turn and/or river it's not so weighted towards aces and I can more profitably call. Now, that was just my thinking... if it needs adjusting, I'm all for recommendations!
P.S. I know range considerations aren't as discussed as much at the micro stakes, and there's always that one person who feels the need to blast a poster for thinking about the game like that while playing for smaller amounts... LOL But in a spot like this, I would like to be as balanced as I can so that every time I check players can't just bomb me on the turn and river.
