Short stacked as the chip leader or close to it

Hey, haven't played many live tournaments yet. However i've noticed online tournaments are pretty turboish. Even the ones that aren't labeled as turbos. I've noticed that the final table is often filled with short stacks as far as blinds go. When I find myself in the top three with ten to twenty left, also having only twenty bb's or so. I'm always wondering, do I play like I normally would with twenty bb's.. or is it different now because almost everyone in the tournament is worse off than me. Jamming with twenty bb type of hands seems kinda ****ed when im in the lead, seems desperate like I dont need to be doing that. I'm pretty new to poker what do you guys think? 😎😎

You should check out the tournament strategy section.
That said I think you should play based on effective stack sizes. So if you are Co it's folded to you and btn has 8bb, sb has 10bb, and bb has 6bb you aren't playing a 20bb stack. You are essentially playing a 10 bb stack here.
I'm sure there might be some other considerations (icm, etc) as I'm not a tournament player. Which is why I'd recommend going to the tournament strategy forum.

Yeah exactly!! im sometimes thinking, "hes short stacked, shouldn't i be doing something about that." lol. That tip is great thanks. Also i'll check out the tournament section. I thought I was in that section, still figuring this site out it took me twenty minutes to re locate this post lol. Thanks a lot, seems like common sense to play effective now that you mention it. Guess sometimes you gotta hear it from someone else. Thanks again.
