Questionable hand from today as per below, running A high straight into a boat on the river on a paired board against a villian with not a lot of hands on (33 hands, nothing notable). I have a few question in this scenario...

1. P/F if I'm playing balance I should always be calling with KAo and small percentage of the time be 3betting against EP. But what about at 2NL, looking from an exploitative view against the overall style of play should i be shrinking or increasing my 3B% and does that change multiway and why?

2. Then the flop, when facing the donk bet even though i have good odds to call is it still +EV to call the gutshot?

3. The river, now as the board pairs and with the way he played pre flop should i have opted for a c/c or even c/f to value size bets given a lot of the time he has sets with TT 99 JJ?

Don't post results as it skews the responses you get back.

    Preflop is good.

You should c-bet after 3betting almost always as a lot of villain's at this level call them pre-flop and play fit or fold on the flop. You want to take advantage of that and get them to fold (plus your hand has some equity with your two overcard + guy shot straight draw should he call).

As played I'd lead out on the turn. You want to get money into the pot now. If he has a King he's never folding. Same goes for two diamonds or even a set or two pair. If you don't bet now he can draw for free with his flush and straight draws. Even with a favourable river card it'll be hard for you to get stacks in.

As played river is horrible for us, we're probably beaten when he shoves over the bet but I think we have to call given we're getting 6/1on the call and he could have AK or something like KQ here.

Noted, will take out the results in future.

Will work this c bet after 3 bet into my game and see how it goes. So we are ok to donk bet the turn? Under what circumstances at 2NL are we using the donk bet and against what kind of players?

I don't donk much but I like donking for value on wet boards versus passive opponents. It can also be good to donk as a bluff or semi-bluff in scenarios where you might think that the board missed villain's range but I wouldn't worry about that one at 2nl.

Regarding the 3bet c-bet. Obviously in this exact hand it wouldn't have taken the pot down but to think like that would be to engage in results-oriented thinking.

Off topic: I like to weak lead / blocking bet my flush draws against regs. It works. 2NL
