How do you adjust your range when you have multiple limpers in front of you?

As an example let's say you are playing a full ring game and you are on the button holding a mediocre hand like pocket 9s or 89 suited.. in front of you there are 3 limpers. How do you play your hand in the most profitable way? Do you tighten your range a bit when you have multiple limpers infront?

I may tighten up slightly, but I'm still probably raising with most hands I would have opened on the button. With 99 and 98s, I'd probably raise. Players don't tend to limp/raise enough for this to be a mistake.

I play slightly tighter with more than one limper in the pot, but 99 and 89s are plenty good to go in for a raise. I’d start phasing our hands like 34s or pocket duces tho if it’s online.

Just come in for a larger open and collect the dead money as the limps fold.

Normally i play the opposite of the two previous posters. When there are many limpets and i’m in position i’ll widen my range and raise larger to squeeze out the lumps and take the dead money. On the button after 3 limps, unless you have reason to believe one of the limps is oddly trapping multiway at micros lol, id come in for a biggish open, 6-7bbs with a LARGE portion of my range. Any suited face, connectors (suited or not), up to 3gappers, any ace, etc. think about what consists in a limpers range. if their hand was something worth playing wouldn’t they open it themselves?

open big, cbet flop and take the pot down. if you find resistance on dry boards be cautious. i find a lot of limp/callers play small pocket pairs this way and try to see a cheap flop multiway. you normally won’t be able to get multiple streets of value against continuing range of a limper, but a majority of the time you’ll take the pot pre or from a cbet. other than that, you have the same chance of hitting cards post flop as they do and punish them when they connect with worse than you do.

would love more thoughts or critiques from others as well though!

I agree with above. If they want to play garbage, charge them for it. If I've gotta small pocket pair though, maybe 22-66 I'm limping too. I just find the stack sizes you win from hitting your sets outweigh the limping pots you take down. Players at the micro love to call if they've connected with the board in anyway.
