There are still cash rebates you can spend the stars coins on so rest assured. There is basically no change to the actual rb % for goldstar and below

I'm no sure how to feel. Now that I'm Supernova I'm still getting more rake back for the same volume than I was as a platinum star so that's nice and feels good but I'm still getting less than I would have if I was Super Nova so that sucks but it's still hard to feel like something has been taken away from me even though I know it has.

Cannot use TN1 anymore ... is everyone using TN2 or something else like Starshelper ?

Slightly concerned there is no real support thread here for Starshelper.

what about all the great promotions that are much better than how they've been in the past? now that stars have saved all this money from the VIP system they can more easily afford to invest in marketing and promotional campaigns, which for us means lots of fun, great promos like the cash game quest, mega bonuses to name a few that we may not be getting had changes not been made:

So Amaya's decision to take away money from the VIP system works well in 2 ways:

1) Pokerstars injects new hope into the community by making a bold decision that may help to save the games by replacing the old broken VIP system with a new one that may prove to be sustainable. The ecosystem health will improve to level out the playing field as the gap between rewards for casual and regular players is narrowed, and high volume play is discouraged. This change works congruently and cohesively alongside Amaya's decision to lower the utilisation of casual player targeting by regulars using 3rd party software. The end result is that casual players get a better experience on the site and will therefore stay for longer which will benefit everybody.

2) The money saved from the VIP system is able to be spent on more important things that also serve to level out the playing field by benefiting recreational players more, such as marketing and promotional campaigns that aim to draw in new depositing players and also reignite the interest of existing casual players.

You guys have to understand these changes were necessary to be made, and now finally we're starting to see why. The games have been the best they've been for a while (partly thanks to the strike as even more high volume players are discouraged which is yet another thing that helps the ecosystem). I'm already loving the new promotional ideas that have been implemented into the new year, as well as the discussed ideas promised for us in the future (such as a 100,000,000 starscoin giveaway next month mentioned by Pokerstars Matthew in another thread).

tl;dr

you like the changes, i assume that's what it says in your post. nobody else with a brain does. you don't understand them, we get it, no need to keep writing walls of text no one cares for, waste of time for all parties really

i think i'm one of the few who actually still reads your posts, but not when they're more than 2 sentences long, that just goes beyond the pain threshold

Holy crap playing the headsup freeroll tourn. Realised it would be slow but this is agonizing, first round already taking 34 mins now, might be sitting here till morning to make a buck or 2.

Gonna stick with the hypers or shootouts from now on.

Haha. I played a few tourneys over xmas with promo tickets that I'd won. Hated every minute of them. As soon as I got dealt in I was like "what have I done? I've made a huge mistake". Don't know how Mtt grinders do it.

Hope you went deep or busted early

I went out in the round before the payouts started, lol, 2.5 hours or so down the drain. I'm ok with the regular tourneys but the headsup stuff is sickening, my first 3 rounds was:
1. Won after 5 minutes or so, 35 min wait till next round.
2. Sit outer, blinded him out after a couple of minutes.
3. Won first hand (flopped a full house and he got a straight ott lol)
Then 2 tight rounds which could have gone either way, won 1 which I shouldn't have won, lost one which i should have so.

Well i just hit $10 on the daily cash challenge thing so that's ok I guess.

The HU one is by far the worst out of the 4 but it has the best time slot

In the one I played one guy was against a sit out and he kept folding for an hour just exchanging blinds with 1000's of railers slating him while he laughed and ****ed the whole tourney.

Support eventually closed his table

Saw something similar happening, with 1 guy being like 2500-500 ahead but both sitting out, so they would just take eachothers blinds all the time.

And that still wasn't the last table to finish, somehow, but maybe they closed it.

What the hell happened to online poker in 2015? I took part of 2014 and all of 2015 off to work on a new career. I was thinking about getting back into poker over the past few weeks and come back to an Amaya takeover, popups that my HM2 version is out of compliance, and a Full Tilt traffic implosion -- pokerscout looks fairly pitiful overall from the last time I checked with all of the segregation going on.

Where would a former 24 table Supernova grinder that played a range of 50NL to 200NL in 2014 play now with the cash grab going on at Stars? They are still probably the only option, but with games looking a lot tougher with less rakeback, and recs flocking to the spin&go flips, I'm thinking multiple sites and fewer tables is likely more profitable.

Any obvious pitfalls I need to avoid? -- Party still segregating based on skill? Bots on site x?

I don't recognize anyone here except Rosh and Husker. Nice to meet the rest of you!

well.. as long as neither of them has QQ you're getting decent odds. And you could be ahead, he might shove KK/AA here as well. I can't fold but not loving it.
