Hi everyone, new to the forum!
A little about me.. I've been playing poker for around 5 years and have played like a complete fish in those 5 years lol. But recently I have decided to take the game serious and study it.

anyways here's the hand..

NL Holdem $0.05(BB)
CO ($4.88) [VPIP: 20% | PFR: 20% | AGG: 0% | 3-Bet: 0% | Hands: 5]
BTN ($2.81) [VPIP: 20% | PFR: 0% | AGG: 100% | 3-Bet: 0% | Hands: 5]
HERO ($5.02) [VPIP: 25.9% | PFR: 14.7% | AGG: 36.2% | 3-Bet: 9.9% | Hands: 979]
BB ($1.25) [VPIP: 50% | PFR: 0% | AGG: 0% | 3-Bet: 0% | Hands: 4]
UTG ($5.07) [VPIP: 20% | PFR: 20% | AGG: 0% | 3-Bet: 0% | Hands: 5]
HJ ($8.01) [VPIP: 20% | PFR: 20% | AGG: 0% | 3-Bet: 50% | Hands: 5]

Dealt to Hero: K K

UTG Folds, HJ Folds, CO Raises To $0.35, BTN Folds, HERO Raises To $0.65, BB Calls $0.60, CO Calls $0.30

Hero SPR on Flop: [0.31 effective]
Flop ($1.95): Q 7 5
HERO Bets $1.02 (Rem. Stack: 3.35), BB Calls $0.60 (allin), CO Calls $1.02 (Rem. Stack: 3.21)

Turn ($4.59): Q 7 5 J
HERO Bets $3.35 (allin), CO Calls $3.21 (allin)

River ($11.15): Q 7 5 J 2

CO shows: Q Q
BB shows: A J

CO wins: $10.46

I had just got on this table so really had no info on the players

To me the flop looked pretty dry, the turn card was not the best but I still had confidence in my Kings..

Is this poor play or just a bad situation? Do you think I overplayed my pair?

Please give me brutal honesty on how you would have played this hand and what you would have done differently (its not going to hurt my feelings lol)

Thanks in advance for the input, glad to be apart of the forum!

You did not 3 bet enough preflop is the main issue. A pot size 3 bet would be a little over $1. I don't have a problem with postflop

Definitely as above. When out of position I would make it something like 13bb to go. Although in situations where we are never folding it’s sometimes good to check turn to allow villain to spazz with all the bad part of his range..

Fish here, posting to learn...

The 7x open is pretty odd so your 3bet might want to be a touch smaller than normal, but you bet way too small, I'd raise to $1 or so (although the information you have on the BB is minimal he may be shaping up to be fishy, and you don't want him to come in cheaply with a junk hand and you OOP). At that point you'd be committed with the SPR. Flip is fine, value from Qx. I like the turn as well, AK is unlikely to bluff if checked to.

With hindsight QQ of course is exactly the sort of hand you want to get max value from larger 3bet.

That’s a big pre flop rfi size. Oop we need to 3B bigger, 3x plus 1x for position is a good rule. The lower we make that flop spr the better it is for our hand. Big hands love low spr’s.

The flop is dry so we can cb smaller, we have range advantage but villain certainly has nut advantage. I wouldn’t particularly have QQ in villains range here, but the other sets are his and unlikely to be yours. That said we should already be committed.

A flop calling range has a fair amount of Qx. But even vs a flop raising range folding out of the question.
