$0.10 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $11.19 -> 17/14/ 3Bet 11 (72 hands)
SB: $4.88 -> 54/27 (27 hands)
BB: $6.00
UTG: $10.15
UTG+1: $9.90
Hero (MP): $10.70
MP+1: $3.85
CO: $10.00

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has K T

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.30, fold, fold, BTN calls $0.30, SB calls $0.25, fold

Flop: ($1.00, 3 players) 4 2 J
SB bets $0.80

My first intention was to raise this. But with his small stack, obviously just a shove make scence if I want to raise.
But I don't like this with the full stacked 17/14 player to my left. Generally I had a bad feeling in this spot. Don't know why.

Hero calls $0.80, BTN raises to $3.30, SB raises to $4.58 and is all-in, Hero???

For me this is a fold.
Maybe there is a Nut Flush draw or 3 possible Sets with 10 Outs at the turn to make a FH. AJ and a Overpair is what I want to see. And of course a smaller flush draw.

After the session I calculate a litte bit:
Pot 9,68$
ES → 9,60$
BU has to pay after my shove -> 6,30$

9,60$/(9,68$ + 9,60$ + 6,30$) {25,58$} = 37,5% necessary equity vs. 35% equity for the flush
or
(9,68$+6,30$)/9,60$ = 1,66 : 1 implied Odds vs. 1,86 : 1 Odds for the flush

I'd raise a bit more preflop with this kind of player in the blinds, but that's a minor point.

Given the stacks, I actually lean towards raising to $2.40 with the intent to stack off vs the half-stacker and fold if the BTN repops it. Your flop raise would look super strong and fold out lots of hands that are slightly ahead of you. If he raises, he's doing so facing a donk bet AND a raise (that's small enough so that you can jam over the half-stack's shove). That's a very strong raise if he makes, and given that we have an overcard and a FD, I'm fine to let it go.

As played, the math looks fine, and I'm fine to let it go. It might be a stylistic preference, but I find that having fewer super-thin ev/high variance spots in my game makes me play better and happier. #QoL

^^^^^ 2.40 Fold is good.... this might be a rare spot to click back.

Yeah, this makes sense.
A small raise makes the action of the BTN more honest and I am not committed.

Thx
