BANKROLL BUILDING- What stakes are worth my time?? (DISCUSSION) BANKROLL BUILDING- What stakes are worth my time?? (DISCUSSION)

Hey Everyone,
I've been playing live poker for a few years and online poker for just over a year and a half. The past few months I started studying my game and using a HUD. I purchased PT4 and Flopzilla and use them to review hands in the spots I encounter.

I deposited a small about of money online ($50) and was able to grind that up to about $205 or so. I've had some swings but nothing to crazy. I am struggling with the amount of hours I have to grind (I work full time and have a family) and how long it is taking me to grind a nice bankroll at 5NL. I have a few thousand dollars set aside for live poker but I want to stick to proper bank roll management live and online.

****I would like everyone's thoughts on what stakes are "worth" playing online for them vs. "their time" spent trying to grind a roll..****

A part of me wants to grind 25NL if its worth it and If I lose my small roll I can just reload and no big deal. I might be winning at 5NL but can I win at 25NL??

You might ask why not load more money on now if you got it??? I would like your suggestions.

I have a small 2 month sample size from PT4. (Purchased recently)

(I couldn't figure out how to get the graph image from PT4 in here lol.)

6,700 Hands
867 BB
12.36 BB/100

Thoughts, suggestions, experiences greatly appreciated

-Thank you, Cheers

I like that.. don't really understand the cashout logic. Still if you have the money should you start higher assuming you have a skill edge??

For every level the cashout should match the equivalent of 25 buyins at the next level. By doing so, you allow yourself to gain enough experience, to get used to the money involved and the swings that you cannot avoid. Also, the cashout should not be a single withdraw. You should do like this (given the example at NL50):

- start playing NL50 with $1,500;

- make $1,000 profit (rakeback, bonuses, tourney winnings NOT included) and withdraw $500;

- repeat 2 times; you shoud now have $3,000 into your poker account;

- make the last $1,000 profit and get it all out;

- move up to NL100.

By making more withdraws instead of just one you constantly reward your efforts. This can be a great motivator. You can try NL25 if you are confident with your abilities.

If you don't mind me asking. Where did you start and where are you now?
