I've never seen anyone do this at NL10, so I was thrown off a bit.

Call.

You're worried about A9, A6, 99, 66 and a weirdly played AA (only one combo).

He also has flush draws and 78.

My default would be to go into check-call mode.

Don't stack off this deep.
If you check the flop, you have to call obviously. You rep KK/QQ/JJ and the slow played AA. See what he does on the turn. If the flush gets there and he continues to bet hard, I would consider a fold.

Interesting stats here would be "bet vs miss cbet" and "fold3bet".

Why did you not cbet? You are in check call mode now, and an overbet should be just what you want if you are not going to bet your own hand...
"See what he does on the turn"
He will bet.

interesting spot not gonna lie.

Only option is to call. Folding is way too weak vs that dumb play vs weak player

And raising is going full ****** that deep.

What was your reasoning for a check here?

Reasoning for check is vil is one of the more less fishy players you come across at NL10. Clearly, not a winning player by far but he at least is trying to win. I had been in some pots with him earlier in the session, and a 3-bet pot, and a couple times when there was an A on the flop in those hands, I had check folded to his bet or to someone else's bet. So, I thought that he's the type of player that could have picked up on that, and I would get more value letting him bluff here. But I thought he'd just bet 1/2-3/4 pot. But over 90k hands at NL 10, I have never seen a flop overbet like this, so to me it just screamed 2 pair or better.

And what do you do if he continues barreling? Can you possibly find a fold or like T(non spades) or 5 non spades?
