No info on V at this point, new to the table only 2 hands in.

48BB effective.

I was considering calling his open to set mine on the bt with JJ since we had a caller from co who was loose post flop. I didn't consider V's stack before deciding to squeeze. Bad I know. Now I think I would flat here and not create such a low SPR pot vs an unknown EP open.

My question is was I too hasty to decide that the SPR dictated it was going in. Once V checks which option is the better option, check or bet?

Thanks.

SPR is less than 2 so it's an auto-stack off spot post-flop. I don't think that JJ is a good candidate for giving a free card to on the flop. It's an overcard but it's a vunerable one. Sucks if he has QQ or 1010 but you can't get away from this hand on this board without becoming overly passive and losing value in the long run.

Pre-flop I think the squeeze is good although I'd make it a little higher to reduce the odds that are on offer. Since we're in an information vacuum regarding villain's tendencies all we can go on is the fact that they bought in for 48bb so are likely not good and are likely to be either over calling or over folding to your squeeze. If he shoves then that'll be a tough spot for you but the worry of that happening shouldn't make you make the mistake of calling this in a multi-way pot in my opinion.

Isn’t there added value to keeping the caller in when post flop he tends to be loose?

Cheers bud I thought it was. I need to dig into spr more to get a firmer grasp on it.

If you call here you're going to a flop with at least two others. In fact you're offering great odds for the blinds to come along as well. Either way, with JJ there's a 59% chance that an overcard comes on the flop. If you flat here you're letting hands like K10 and Axs realise their overcard flop equity against you. I think the squeeze greatly simplifies things for you post-flop while also offering the villain's the chance to make a preflop error.
