I ended up folding this on the river, concluding that he either had a better Queen (KQ, QJ, AQ) or a flush. In my experience, the overbet on the river is almost always the nuts (or close to it). Was I right to fold?

Yes, I don't see you winning here often enough to call his overbet. For me it's a boat who wants to get called by the flushes.

I'll sound like a pu**y. But without reads. Typically ,if you can fold on the turn, you can keep being a winning player. If you fold the river, like you did, you're breakeven. If you stack off river, you suddenly become the only reg who can't fold and stacks off to nuts and thus' become the new -10bb/100 fish.

That's on stars, tho'. Dunno how soft and / or aggro games are on... uh... that) Depends on the meta, but usally meta on micros is fold-fold, call, donk rather than CR or raise as a bluff, I actually seldom see bluffs on Stars.

10nl is so tight you have to fold turn here? If that's true then the games are MUCH crappier than 2/5 live is. 2/5 live you prob never fold the turn.

River can fold tho.

Yeah, defo. If somebody else, other than you, starts betting, you're dead. If you cbet and there's more than one caller, you're sitting on a set. If people call your cbet and then bet the turn when you check, you're dead.

In the particular hand people usually raise ONLY if they have a full house, or, weakest, AQ and only if they're loose players.

NL10 is brutal, man. The money comes from stealing blinds and pure bluff flop (which nobody calls anyway, unless they have it) and from massive coolers like AA vs KK pre and set over set postflop.

You can rule the games if you can stack people with AA pre and fold your KK pre vs tight people and situations where other people than nits gotta have AA vs your KK pre and slowly grind up with a small but steady winrate.

Don't get me wrong, some hours I play there is a fish in the ZOOM pool, but even the fish doesn't raise w/o trips or better.

I see a lot of ABC or or even SLAGs / TAGs play these brutal games just to get busted due to attrition and move back to the much softer NL2 ZOOM.
