Hello guys,

Villain was an unknown did not played him before.

Flop I just called his flop bet to slow play and let him do the betting with his top pair second pair hands. Would you guys ever consider raising this flop?

Turn he checked so he shouldnt have a very strong hand so I bet half pot so he wouldnt fold his top pair/fd draws.Would you bet larger on this flop?

River: I bet 3/4 pot to get value from his top pair /2 pair hands. But he reraises me all in would he ever take this line with worse hands. Would you guys call this all in or fold?

You can't really fold this given you're getting 2:1, he's almost never got j9 here for the straight and he would have raised JJ pre-flop (and maybe 10,10).

I've never played this level, so not sure if this c/r on the river comes up much, but he's got enough 2 pairs/single pairs in his range to justify a call.

^^

J9 doesn't make the straight..

As played, bet bigger on the turn. We need to be getting maximum value from our hands. I'm fine with getting the remaining stack in on the river.

My guess is he started feeling invincible on the turn and checked to trap you. It's possible he was slow-playing JJ from pre-flop, but very unlikely. He probably has two pair, guessing JT. That would explain all his actions. But might have any two pair combo, and he called pre-flop "because they're sooted." Seen that too often. Unlucky for you would be if he has 88 and just got stupidly stubborn on the turn. Why would he bet the flop with Q9? I would call. Well-played.

Very odd line from opponent - notice the dramatic change in board texture from flop to turn and how he bets then checks.

Check-raise bluffs on the river are extremely rare. However, there are few hands that you should be afraid of (surely he 3bets JJ preflop, 88 seems extremely unlikely from the line, 97s ditto.

Consider a click-back flop raise although texture is v dry so calling OK too I think. As played bet bigger on the turn. I call expecting a lot of JT, the occasional missed draw, some TT and very rare straights
