I try not to consider my stack during play in terms of how far I'm up or down. I try to just play hands on merit regardless.
I get the feeling that with only a few hands to go I tend to be more speculative and end up putting more in the pot than I would at other times. The hand above is an example. I'm certain that if I played that hand early in the session I'd fold to the pre flop raise of 7bb.
I think there is an element of either 'I might hit big and recoup some of my losses' or 'I'm up so I can gamble with the profit I made'.
I suppose the best way to avoid this is to just get up when it's time to go rather than staying until the BB hits. The idea was that I will see x more hands for free by waiting but if I'm going to throw away chips during those hands it's not a good idea. Either that or force myself to only open AA, KK, AK and nothing else during that time.
