NL10 Flopped set facing PSB donk on the turn NL10 Flopped set facing PSB donk on the turn

Guy was a total unknown but was limp calling so felt like a super wide range. Donk on zoom from fish like this is normally their version of blocking bet with small pair, TP no kicker or draw and occasionally badly played QQ+ . Raised small to get calls from that trash or happily stack off if 'slowplayed' AA

The insta pot donk on completed flush and straight is a worry as he has all of those in his range and the chances of me getting paid from his trash is gone. Not sure what to do now. Folding a set hurts but calling leaves me guessing with only PSB left behind. Shoving I think only gets called by a flush so allows him to play perfectly. Is this way more simple than I am making it vs a fish?

Raise flop bigger, call turn, you will have the implied odds to chase a fh

Surprised all the call shouts. If I call as played pots like $6 with $6 behind. Are we check folding all non quad/FH rivers? I'm calling $2 for a 20% chance to win $16 though I suppose roughly?

If I make flop bigger and he donks then is it a fold as no implied odds or have to shove?

Oh right. Thanks for not pointing out that I am being thick. Every hand I post at the minute the answer is be more aggressive than I am generally or fold less. Its the exact opposite of how it used to be. Just need to come back a bit to the middle and I'll stop being breakeven hopefully. I just can't seem to get back to my old winning ways when I just set mined and nitted up. Small wins, but they were wins. A bit of hand reading theory is a dangerous thing in the wrong hands.

he also has straights without a spade in his range so you dont really need sick implied odds to call turn

Yeah maybe but I'm not going to love calling if a 4th spade comes and he pots again! I don't think I could make a play unless nutted on the river.

Is this similar do you think or does the 4bet pre indicate too much strength. I called the Cbet thinking FD may be live (half the time maybe) and the bet was too small to fold to with that in mind. When the ten comes and he bets I don't think that helps many draws so feel like that improved me vs AK, AQ, AT, KcQx etc. Do you shove there or does the possibility of AA or QQ or flopped flush scare you off into fold or call looking to stack flushes with a FH?

Don't feel you have to as I appreciate any help I can get but whats the bad bits? Would you just fold pre then? Or raise the small Cbet if called? I can't strike a balance between aggression and not.

I would flat pre because you are going to get into tricky situations postflop where you can't really bet very often if called and it's hard to get it in pre vs worse. I definitely wouldn't call a 4bet with TT, much better to just shove or fold (if you 3bet though it should be because you are shoving vs a 4bet).

As played I guess the flop call isn't really terrible but you are going to have to x/f the turn very often
