Second pair and back-door flush draw. Do you call the flop check-raise?

I know my preflop play was loose; was trying to isolate the fish.

I think this is a fold. Yes, you do have backdoors plus middle pair (tho bad kicker) but you are oop and villain looks competent. You squeezed oop, villain knows that most likely but still raises your cbet. You usually try to avoid mediocre hands oop vs. what seems like a competent player.

Preflop, if you squeeze, make it bigger.

Don't 3bet a maniac with this hand.
I don't see any reason to start building a pot here against a villain that we know won't fold. Just call preflop, and wait for that perfect spot when this villain hangs himself.

especially with a hand that plays well against multiple players.

call pre vs mr
focus on squeezing strong high cards and pairs
size is too small too, need to go ~10x

flop size is bad
depends on what you squeeze pre, but standard is 1/3p flop

call the raise, guy is repping jack ****
basically just badly played 44

Why is flop bet size bad?

You think I should have called?!

Mid-pair is a mediocre hand, which means call and see what develops. you lose a lot of money bluffing. when you bet mid pair you are turning it into a bluff. Don't.
