Do you think it would have worked with an overbet? I tried to steal the pot on the turn and I thought it looked like I could have a T when I bet on the river. Do you think it was a good play or not?

You showed weakness at flop.

What hand are you representing?

AA? Why not bet the flop?

QT? Would you 3bet with QT?

just bet the flop with your strong hands and strong draws
x river ap, you have sdv with A high
you can consider bluffing with hands that cannot win at showdown, tho I wouldn't bother in this spot

Preflop
This is one of those spots where I could see folding, calling, or raising being the right play. Villain is active and raising small from the BTN, so that could easily be a very wide range. But how are you going to make money by calling? You're out of position, you'll probably be facing at least one or two barrels, there's huge reverse implied odds when you hit your ace. Raising would be fantastic if Villain was capable of folding, but at NL2 I wouldn't assume that. I'm honestly not sure what the right play is here, but I don't think it's too big a deal what you choose.

Flop
The flop is a little bit wet, but I'd still throw out a cbet. People start playing more fit or fold in 3bet pots, and you have the nut flush draw with an overcard, so your bluff doesn't need to work very often in order to show a profit.

Turn
I don't mind the turn stab, but I don't love it either. Once you show weakness, people loosen up a lot. Then again, the stab doesn't need to work too often to show a profit.

River
You have the ace high for showdown value, so by bluffing you're trying to bluff them off of sevens and fives. I don't think Villain is ever folding top pair at NL2 after a display of weakness on the flop. I think that opponents are generally too call-happy for this sort of bluff to work out.

An overbet would be interesting. Maybe Villain would fold out top pair then.

As for trying to represent the ten, don't. Opponents at the smaller stakes very much tend to play their cards rather than trying to read hands. Eg. "top pair = call" rather than "my top pair has x% equity versus my opponents range".

You have to bet flop. Otherwise you get zero when the flush hits. Flushes are easy to see and people get skittish when the 3rd card hits.

And you throw out the bet BECAUSE the board is wet. It hit you as hard as you could hope for. An ace is actually a scary card for A2. Fd is perfect. only thing better would be 34x flop.
