AKo on a missed flop

Im looking for some constructive criticism on a hand i recently played.
This particular villain i have bluffed 3bet before in the SB/BB with KQ, A9s.
This vil is a 14 VPiP 12 PFR 5 3bet & 44 AFq over 255 hands.
The vil tanked for awhile before calling preflop i may add.
CO: $75.34 (150.7 bb)
BTN: $92.84 (185.7 bb)
SB: $47.15 (94.3 bb)
Hero (BB): $60.91 (121.8 bb)
MP1: $130.44 (260.9 bb)
MP2: $58.46 (116.9 bb)
MP3: $60.03 (120.1 bb)
Preflop: Hero is BB with K
A
4 folds, BTN raises to $1.25, SB folds, Hero raises to $5, BTN calls $3.75
Flop: ($10.25) 4
7 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $6.50, BTN raises to $13, Hero folds
This to me, is a flopped set with 99, or a semi bluff with the nut flush draw.
Is this more a flop i should be checking back ?
