AJs button, to 3-bet or to call vs CO open

[converted_hand][hand_history]Merge, $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 9 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #32417282

BB: $5.47 (54.7 bb)
UTG+1: $3.85 (38.5 bb)
UTG+2: $7.24 (72.4 bb) 41/2/0 over 41 hands
MP1: $9.57 (95.7 bb) 36/6/0 over 38 hands
MP2: $4.09 (40.9 bb)
MP3: $11.46 (114.6 bb)
CO: $9.80 (98 bb) 17/0/0 over 6 hands(he is on multiple tables)
BTN: $11.79 (117.9 bb) AJ
SB: $3.59 (35.9 bb)

UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls $0.10, MP1 calls $0.10, 2 folds, CO raises to $0.30, BTN calls $0.30, 2 folds, UTG+2 calls $0.20, MP1 calls $0.20

I considered 3-betting since Villain was only 3xing it, raising from CO, and presumably has a very wide range. I reconsidered and decided in favor of a flat because

A) CO may have a wide range, but if he folds to my 3-bet, I kind of miss value from playing in position with the other two fish/him. I do not know this for a fact, though, and he may very well call my reraise OOP we a weak/wide range. Since I had little info on him and no definite reads, but knew for sure there were two fish limping OOP, I went ahead with the call.

What do you think? Play the hand in position in a multiway pot by flatting(allowing definite fish in the pot to play OOP against you), or play aggressively by 3-betting and capitalize on your equity(likely forcing out some very loose fish, and forcing the CO to fold/call OOP)

Both options seem good, but which would likely show a higher EV?

Thank you for your feedback!!!
