Given his C-C line preflop, it's unlikely villain has an overpair. The only made hands he could have here realistically are 33 or 79. Surely he'd have raised with 7s or 9s with a 10% PFR? He could have something like 68h, 8Th, 78h, etc. in which case it's a coin flip. He could just have 68 or 8T in another suit, in which case you're a good favourite. He could also have nothing or just a gutshot and he's check-raising you because he knows the board favours his range over yours. With 43% VPIP he could even be doing this with just a pair and assuming you have AK, AQ, AJ, etc.
There are more situations where you're ahead or even than behind, so I think a call on the flop is fine and re-evaluate on the turn based on what draws hit. Remember that even a heart isn't terrible since you have the Ah. A read would be useful though: does he bluff often?

Unfortunately, I had no read other than his stats.
Call and reevaluate on the turn is reasonable. If he leads, I should probably put him on a set. I think you're right that an overpair doesn't make a ton of sense.
So a proper line might be to call the flop, fold to a lead on the turn giving up the best hand every once in a while.
Given that my only read is his stats, is getting stacks in on the flop bad?
