I cbet this hand because I have a slightly stronger than avg hand on this dry flop, but my hand is vulnerable and needs protection. Also, with the sticky fish behind me there is some value to be gained. Targeting V's small pp's and over card range for value/protection. Use small bet sizing because of dry board and to widen v's calling range to maximize value. I give V 23% pot odds to call so is a decent charge for the range hero is targeting, which hero assumes to be 10-25% because V will have a few decent draws occasionally. Say V has on avg ~18% chance to improve on the turn.
The turn is a dangerous card for me cuz it connects well with a portion of V's flop call range, yet it also improves my hand to an inside straight draw. Hero thinks that equity is good enough here to continue betting for value/protection targeting the same range as on the flop. Bet size leaves V with 17% odds on a call, which is a little of a light charge considering how the 9 improves some of V's drawing range. Could consider betting closer to 30-35% pot like on the flop.
On the river the decision is made to turn hand into bluff and this is because now have zero showdown value and vs the range hero is targeting there are several hands we chop with, and there are several hands that suddenly jumped ahead of us, yet these hands have relatively low showdown value--hands such as 22-55, and Ax, Kx, Qx etc (essentially anything >6 high!) so hero thinks because there are numerous hands that he chops/loses to, yet he can force villain to fold many of those, plus with hero's range advantage and expected decent fold equity, it is a good opportunity to bluff the river.
Would like a thought process check. Also, maybe a range/balance issue here, not sure. And what do you think is a good bet sizing?
