Had a spot in the BB I am not sure of. We are 6 Handed in $.02/$.05 NLH on Ignition. No reads on the table as of yet.

I am dealt 66 in the BB.

Folds to UTG +2 (Villian) who limps in. Folds to me in the BB. Should I raise here? As played I checked, but I'm thinking with a middle pair 6 handed facing a limp from UTG+2 (essentially the cut off) a raise may be better.

As played, I check and the flop comes 485, giving me a gut shot to go with my pair.

I check, V bets $.12, I call with the intention of folding the turn to another bet.

Turn is the (485)9

I check, V bets $.36. I stick with my plan and fold.

Raise pre yeah. I would make it $0.25. Your equity is greater than his, when he limps (unless he's only limping with monsters, which is super exploitable). If he folds pre, it's still a great outcome, you take the blinds and avoid playing a pot OOP.

His flop cbet is a pot sized bet, isn't it ? I could find a fold vs. this sizing. There are not many good turn cards for us, only 6s and 7s (6 outs). The spades are not super great, however, so we could only have 4 real outs here. I'm not confortable calling a second bet on the turn if we don't improve. However, I could advocate a x/raise on the flop or on the turn (not on a turn spade though) vs. some type of players. But don't make it readless. Target agressive players who can fold against resistance.

This all makes sense, thanks! I was thinking about throwing this hand into pro poker tools and seeing what my equities were pre and post flop, turn, etc, I might still do that just to see how far I am behind on the flop VS his range.

So what am I doing wrong here, in looking up the equity?

Looking at this in ProPokerTools, if he's limping in with his top 20%, on that flop I'm a 60% favorite, which would make a pot-sized bet a call.

Am I doing this wrong? I'm still trying to learn to help my game better.

Yeah I would raise to .20 preflop.

I don't think calling is a terrible line here but for a psb I think a fold is probably more ev. There's not alot of good cards that can come ott and there is some reverse implied odds that we have to be aware of.

On the turn easy fold.
