Hey all,
I'm new to these forums. I've recently decided to start studying more than I play, and that means going over my hands in detail. My study practice has consisted of me going over hands I have recorded in Pokertracker, going through each step and putting each person's range in Pokerstove. This can mean going through each hand individually. I've gotten much faster at putting people on a range, though I need to do this more in game instead of just when studying. I have some other questions about my studying method, but I'll ask those after the hand.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ignition 5NL cash game, 5 handed.
CO: 118 BB, VPIP 16%, PFR 11%, 3B 0%, AF 2.00 on 38 hand sample size.
BTN (Hero): 101 BB, 30% VPIP, PFR 22%, 3B 0%, AF 5.00 over 37 hands.
SB: 99 BB, 0% VPIP. Only 1 hand, so just sat down.
BB: 111BB, 49% VPIP, 24% PFR, 0% 3B, AF 0.75 over 41 hands.

UTG Folds, CO raises to 3BB, hero calls on BTN with 2s2c, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop (12 BB): Qc8c7c. Checks all around.

Turn (12 BB): 2h. SB bets 1BB, BB calls, CO folds, hero raises to 9.8 BB, SB and BB fold.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I was going over the ranges, I have them down to the specific hands in Pokerstove, but the gist is this for preflop:
  • CO is a little tight, so has 66+, any suited Ace, A9o+, Any non-T suited or offsuit broadway, and a few higher suited connectors (98s+).
  • SB has any suited Ace below AT, ATo and A2o-A5o, 99 and below, some decent suited kings and queens, some high and middling suited connectors and a few offsuit connectors.
  • BB has the same as SB, but being loose, also has any suited king, a lot lower suited connectors, some worse suited jacks/queens/tens, and a few more offsuit connectors and some offsuit/suited one gappers.

On the flop, the checks from the blinds say nothing, but the CO check takes out QQ, 88, 77 and maybe AQ because I think he might have bet those. I think he can check back a flush though since I am aggressive.

On the turn, I have no idea what the min bet means from SB. I took out flushes, two pairs, and sets from BB because I think I would have bet those.

Questions about the hand:
  1. Should I have down sized my bet on the turn? Or bet at all? There's a 18% chance using the rule of 2's that a club hits, and as long as it doesn't I think we are doing very well here, but if it does hit poof goes my equity. I bet large here to protect, but in retrospect was that a good idea?
  2. What the hell does it mean when someone bets the minimum in a 5+ BB pot? I notice sometimes people always do it on the flop, then ridiculously ramp up the aggression on t he turn and river. Other times they do it and I have no idea what the hell it means.
  3. How does my play differ if SB and BB didn't call pre? I know it's an open ended question but I think I would have done a similar line of play - check back flop, bet turn if he checks it or call his bets if he bets turn.

Questions about my studying:
  1. Is my studying method good? Or is there a better way?
  2. What are some good sources of large amounts of hands at these stakes that I can analyze too? Are there massive megathreads of these on this forum, or elsewhere?
  3. Is the way I annotated the hand here fine?

Thanks very much in advance.
