Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 4 players - View hand 30500
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

CO: $51.35
BTN: $34.30 bad loose aggressive player, 56/26 over 160 hands, ATS of 48%
Hero (SB): $64.50
BB: $79.85

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is SB with J T
1 fold, BTN raises to $2, Hero raises to $7, 1 fold, BTN calls $5

I 3bet, since he had an ATS of 48% and should fold most of the time.

Flop: ($14.50) A 3 Q (2 players)
Hero bets $12, BTN calls $12

I c-bet pretty large, because I'm not really value betting (around 50% equity vs Ax or Qx) and wanted to maximize my fold equity.

Turn: ($38.50) 7 (2 players)
Hero?

Normally I just shove, which should be fine most of the time and is slightly +EV vs Ax, but maybe there is a more +EV line.

I thought of ck/calling the turn and shove river if he checks behind and I hit or ck/fold if I miss.
I don't really think villain will ever fold to a turn or river shove, he has only $15.30 behind.

I'm not really sure if my assumptions are correct, so I'd like to hear your comments on the hand and on the ck/call turn line.

1. you don't 3b light vs bad players, you 3b light vs TAGgish players. you also don't 3b light vs less than full stacked players.
2. if you're going to bet the flop, you should plan on pushing the turn much of the time, no matter the card; so plan your flop bet size better. (i don't like this plan fwiw)
3. c/r flop all in is pretty sexxy and should be considered by Hero and is what I would do.

Thanks for your reply aj.
To 1, yeah you're right, I was kind of blinded by his ATS and thought that almost 3betting ATC should be +EV there.
To 2, so I should bet flop smaller to be able to bet a 2/3 to 3/4 PSB on turn, which would have more FE?
To 3, this line is very sexy indeed, but what do you do if he checks behind and you miss the turn? Again check/shove?

yes. i don't love it for this hand because when they call flop, they usually aren't folding turn given the texture. but, for future hands be very conscious of bet sizing in 3b pots.

no. i would probably c/f unless my implied odds are there.

----

the thing is with this hand and with alot of 3b pots, is that you can't be betting flops and then giving up too much, that is just burning money. BUT, you really want to be betting THIS flop because you rep an ace and he has to fold his non-ace hands. BUT, you can't give up once you put money in the middle in this particular hand.

so, upon further thought, I like a (biggish) flop bet to hopefully fold out his non-Ace hands, pricing yourself somewhat in on the turn, and then just leading the turn if he calls flop.

after further thought, hero's best line is just to overbet push the flop.
