UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, MP+2 calls 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 2 BB

Flop: (9.5 BB, 3 players) 9 A 7
Hero checks, UTG bets 4.5 BB, fold, Hero calls 4.5 BB

Turn: (18.5 BB, 2 players) 5
Hero checks, UTG bets 10 BB, Hero raises to 31 BB

Is my call pre here fine? Should we fold or raise here sometimes?
Can we float this flop?
Is this turn a good spot to check/raise? Would it be ok to donk here?

I would raise flop if villain has a normal to high fold vs raise cb. After you picked equity ott I think your hand is more valuable if calling and seeing if you hit the river. Not sure tho. As played, I´m betting strong on any river.

Basically always just call this hand pre vs UTG in nit ring. Flop float is just meh on this board, especially OOP. I understand why you want to x/r the turn but I don't like it with UTG barreling an A high board. I would have x/f flop but if I did get to the turn like this I'd just call on this board.

Well be basically have nothing atm, and only 20% chance to win this hand on the river.

I think we have a lot of fold equity by check-raising here, getting villain to fold a lot of his bad aces and probably all of he's second and third pairs.

We keep villain's top range in the hand, like AK and sets.
If we do hit our flush on the river, we can probably get some extra value from those hands.

If we just call here, we lose our value against all the bad aces and second pairs, which we probably won't get to fold if the river doesn't complete the flush and we try to bluff there.

What "bad aces"? I wouldn't open less than AQo, AJs, and A5s (for light 4bet reasons, but wouldn't put in the range of an average reg) UTG if I was playing nit ring (which I avoid playing like the plague as it bores me to death).

floating oop vs a utg pfr on an ace high flop = bad

im a little confused because in ur other thread im pretty sure u were arguing for passing on on small edges because it would be tricky or difficult to play and likely only modestly +ev and prob increase variance

and now u are floating flops and semi bluff check raising the turn against a likely strong utg range.... quite the turn around!

Hmm thanks for the replies.
Maybe this wasn't the best spot.

Ya, check/fold the flop. You didn't quite catch enough of the pot to continue, and it's a pretty low likelihood you can push this villian off a hand here.

hu can float flop
when utg cb into 2, one of them being a mp flat, can't make money on later streets anymore since his range is just going to be too strong

once again ott, hu you can x/r and shove most non pair rivers and it's ok
ap given flop, it looks kind of ambitious but I wouldn't call it terrible, mby a bit forced
the whole line would be much better if you had a gutshot on the flop
