So this is a hand I just played at 10NLz on Ignition. Looking for thoughts on the turn bet/river call.

100 BB effective stacks. UTG+1 opens to 2.5x. Folds to Hero who flats on the BTN with T8. Blinds get out of the way and we go heads up to a flop.

Flop comes K84.

Villain checks, Hero checks back.

Turn is the 2.

Villain checks, Hero bets 1/3 pot, Villain calls.

River is the 4.

Villain donks 1/2 pot, Hero calls.

My reasoning for betting turn was to deny equity and also get some thin value. Once Villain donked the river, I decided to call. It seems like he's mainly repping A4s, or maybe 54s if he's opening that wide pre (although that seems unlikely to me). Since there are so few combos of suited 4x it seemed like I was getting the odds. This is also one of my better hands here since I likely bet KJ+ OTF. So I only have a couple suited Kx hands and A8s that are stronger in this spot.

Interested to here what people think.

When you check back flop and bet turn, you're repping spade flush draws, some bluffs, 8x, hands which will have a high % fold to the 4h on the river.

That being said, villian is really only repping 4x, or KK, a few combos.

I'm curious as to how the river action played out. Do PM me if possible

My guess would be that he had a busted club flush draw, maybe a small pocket pair like 22-55 but not 44. Pocket pairs over 66 probably bet the flop to see where they're at. Sets probably bet the turn so I don't think he has that. I would put him on like A T, something along those lines.

Curious why you didn't bet the flop? Idk if it's good or bad to bet the flop I probably would've if I was you.
