Slot Woman: "Any what?"
Louis: "Skill"
Woman "No"
Woman "You just have to gamble"

Love this documentary - it was first aired in the UK about 3 years back. The part where the carpet mogul is loading $100 bills into slot machines is seriously sick.

louis theroux does some really good stuff, I think the reason why the bbc showed this one was because there was another program about vegas on.

Yeah I was like lol when they came back from the MGM chewing the faces off themselves.

In fairness to Louis nice guy that he is I thought he was well out of line talking about inheritence in front of the old lady and her son.
Very morbid and unnecessary.

Also, the guys that run these casinos are cold and very very calculating.(as if they would eb any other way^^)

Best line IMO is when, in response to Louis suggesting he should cut his losses, the mad-eyed salesman-guy asserts "I am not a quitter ... I am not a quitter"

That and the carpet guy making no reaction when he hits the big win on Lucky Larry, and then pointing out he'll have to pay 30% tax.

In one of his documentaries Louis and the nazis, there's a scene where he is in the house of this nazi folks and then he says "what if I was a jew" and the guy starts pressuring him to say if he is a jew...he definitely started shaking a bit.
I've seen most of the eps and he is definitely good at getting people comfortable to talk about nearly everything.

The episode with the survivalists, porn, black nationalists, wrestling and demolition derby are some of the best

Louis Theroux's stuff is excellent. He often has such a simple line of questioning, yet gets great responses from whoever he is interviewing.

Sometimes he just stands there asking 'why?' to someone - almost childlike type questions but his manner and style turns it into great tv material.

The San Quentin episode was just about his best imo closely followed by Philly and Joburg. Joburg looked worse than Philly, doesn't bode well for the World Cup in June.

Did anyone see the 'Place for Paedophiles' episode? The whole hospital just give me the creeps, it reminded me of the underwater city in the game Bioshock.
