Maybe I don't have the experience yet where it shines but I can't see much use for it yet.

Have mentioned it before here, but Kinect integration / voice commands are by far the biggest improvement for me over 360 since I watch TV/apps more often than I game. I use them constantly - turn on and off the cable/TV/sound/XBox with voice command 100% of the time. Change channels regularly with voice command. Mute/unmute all the time with voice command. Toggle between TV / games / apps all the time with voice command. Play / pause / rewind / FF all the time with voice command. Etc.
If you don't have kinect or do and haven't used it to its full extent you wouldn't realize its value, but it's substantial if you do. Then again if you live in a loud household where you'd have a hard time getting commands to be heard then it may not be worth it. A friend of mine with three young kids just got XB1 without kinect and I don't blame him. As noted, you can always pick it up later.
PSA: last week I had a weird issue where cable TV was freezing and had no sound. XB1 games and apps were working fine. Rebooted the cable box, called tech support, etc. Finally had a cable guy come out who spent three hours tinkering with various things, ultimately came to find out that all I needed to do was reboot the XB1. Ugh. Total fail for not thinking of this on my own.
