Hopefully they get destroyed by the critics and no company does this again. Diablo3, the sims, new xbox?

Sigh.

I don't quite understand the backlash. Didn't they say it's not online-only?

My preferred gaming systems look like they'll be
PC > PS4 > XBO

And why would they eliminate the physical controller? Not everyone wants to use kinect all the time.

I thought the only thing Sony revealed about what the PS4 looked like was a very blurry black shape off in the distance.

I don't care what it looks like, at least they showed us games, the only game related thing in the xbox conference that was remotely interesting was that new remedy game, which we still know nothing about. new COD looks like a joke compared to BF4. hooray kinect 2.0 and talkin to your ****in tv, what a waste of time

Seems accurate, and not surprising. Microsoft is trying to be more of a home entertainment company (games + media), and the direction they're taking the Xbox One is in line with that. Sony is sticking with the gaming side a little more, and their focus with the PS4 demonstrates that.

Like, I think Microsoft is actually being insanely ****ing ambitious - they want everyone to like the next Xbox. The Wii market, the hardcore gamer market, the Netflix streamers + casual gamer market, they want to make a machine that appeals to all of them. Which is really, really hard. Since it's 98% hardcore gamers that watch these presentations, naturally the internet response is "well that blew" when they're talking about all this other stuff going on. The Xbox One won't be a bad system for hardcore gamers, I don't think, it just has a lot of other stuff going on too and it's hard to cram everything into a one hour presentation.

because they didnt?

making the kinect standard is good because now developers know every person has it and it could be integrated in various ways instead of having games either created for the sole purpose of using the kinect for them or with no capabilities at all

microsoft must really think were lazy/******ed ****s if their main selling point in this presentation is voice changing tv crap

it look like sony will be for true gamers and xbox will be more as a media hub gimmick....but aint nobody paying $500 for a media hub....sony always has better exclusives/graphics, so i will stick with them for my GAMING needs.

I think xbox one is a class name.

xbox "anything" sounds a bit crap and xbox 720 seems a bit unoriginal.

It's like

"Xbooooooxxxxxx OOONnnnnnneeee!!!"

Do people who are willing to put this kind of technology to use really have cable TV? Maybe I'm wrong about cable TV being a dying thing, but I haven't had that for a long long time.

Reading in some places that the "fee" is really just paying for the game again (full price)

It obviously is the full price again... Else I would just buy the game with 5 friends, me for 60$ and then slplit the cost along with the tiny fee.
