So is this thing done now that they're showing pre-recorded videos touring the MS facility?

"Microsoft has said that a fee would be charged for any game disc to be tied to a second Xbox Live account following its initial installation. This is likely to limit the market for second-hand games, but would not eliminate the possibility altogether. The company is yet to confirm whether players will be able to play games from disc or run them on secondary accounts without paying for the installation, nor has it given any indication of what the fee may be."

Yeah, I completely approve of this. Never having to switch out games, and being able to DL every full game, which I assume this implies if I log in under my Xbox live tag at a friends house, is ****ing great.

And lol @ anyone who bitches about not wanting to pay full price for a game.

Well, not everyone is made of money. $60 is a lot to pay for a game. Controlling the used game market may allow the price of new games to stay artificially inflated for longer than they currently do making it harder to pick them up for a discount after 6 months.

Being completely selfish, this is ****ing awesome, but it does suck for people for whom games are a luxury. But I guess those people wouldn't be dropping $500 on a new console this year either.

So you have to have separate console accounts for each family member, no? So also separate copies of the game for each family member?

Yeah, name a $60 game that hasn't had a demo? Also go to a buddies house and try it out first? And yeah, I def think this hurts the used game market, which I think is a good thing long term for gamers.

I don't have insider info or anything on how this will work, but I'd be surprised if it's like Steam where you can d/l your entire game library to whatever console you're logged into. It's probably like, you buy a game and install it on your console, and any account on your console can play it, and if you ever need to get a new one for some reason you can prob transfer your licenses somehow.

E3 is in a few weeks. If they do everything today they have nothing to show there.

my Nephews age 13 and 11 demand to be bought their own xbox live accounts for this very reason, their parents will not be amused if games need purchased twice too!

The kids however will absolutely love that the other can't play "their" games at all, lol.

Yeah, a lot of people will not want their K/D ratio (or whatever is applicable to the game in question) to be "ruined" by someone else playing on their account.
