This can't be accurate.

They put massive restrictions in place to protect them and developers from the 2nd hand market..... & then allow 10 people to share the same 1 game!?

No whey.

It even says on it, sit's the best feature'... they'd be banging on about that rather than that they will 'allow' family members to play your games on YOUR Xbone

edit: in fact, the more I look at it, the more I realise it wasn't even worth justifying my reasons!

clearly someone with some spare time looking to get a reaction (person who put it together, not necessarily the OP)

Don't do anything to get your XBL account banned. You will no longer "own" any of your games

This is one of the scariest things about Steam, especially given how non-existent their tech support is. Somehow I think Microsoft is still a little less trustworthy.

EDIT: looks like Valve semi-recently made a policy change where banned accounts still have access to their existing library, but they're locked from anything other than their games.

It's true, they did say this but the storm of bad PR may have nobody interested in this feature. With the amount of effort they’ve put in to prevent casual trading of games, there must be a catch to this.

If not, ****in’ awesome.

Edit: Yup, ****in' awesome

My friends are all moochers so this is perfect.

I seriously have ~10% of my 360 games in my possession right now.

Have not seen it mentioned in this thread, but XBone games still to cost $59.99. PS4 games as well.

So the DRM won't bring the price down... at least not at release.

This alone should scare a ton of people away from MS' terrible offering. Hard to trust a company that cares so little about its users.

Wow, that feature is crazy if true. It would slash game prices in half!

Why didn't they hype it?!?!?

The storm of bad PR that's been surrounding the Xbone may have no one interested in this little known feature.

You buy one game, your "family" buddy buys another, and you guys share them.

Each person only has to buy one game, but you both have access, you will just not be able to play multiplayer with that person

This has been the case since the beginning of Xbox, and its true of the Playstation as well, any account that is permanently banned forfeits its rights to all digital content, including Microsoft points that currently exist on the account. It isn't that hard of a concept, read the TOU's, follow them, don't get banned, and keep your digital content.

Are you forgetting that with an XBone all content is "digital" content? or is it just not that big of a deal, getting banned from playing your retail purchased game discs in single player in your own home?

Also, http://wmpoweruser.com/watch-what-yo...icrosoft-life/ watch what you store on Skydrive!

It's possible you could be banned from playing your own games without ever having played multiplayer!

Im obviously not forgetting that all content is digital content, im simply stating that this has always been the case for xbox accounts, again its why i mentioned earlier tthat this type of distribution may cut down on the cheaterd and hackers and can be seen as a good thing in that instance. Dont forget that each game comes with a double liscense, so if you **** up once you dont lose all your content, you get another chance to follow the TOUs you are agreeing to

It may have always been the case but the punishments will be magnitudes greater on the xbone.

So does that make me the only one that considers this may cut down on cheating/hacking and consider it a good thing?

You sound like the person that welcomes having your rights taken away from you if it prevents "terrorism".

This makes no sense!!?!

MS: Right, we're going to protect our games to make sure we both get a piece of that annoying 2nd hand market
Dev's: ahhhh sweeeet
MS: yeah pretty cool, amirite?
Dev's: yeah that's great, we have been losing so much revenue because of this

MS: Oh, another cool feature is that everyone will be able to share your games with 10 people, with zero extra cost...
Dev: Wut?
MS: Yeah everyone can share their games with their friends and family for nothing, they won't even need the disk!
Dev: Seriously, wut?
MS: Pretty cool huh? They can't play them at the same time, but once they have finished the game it and don't really play it, it can be shared out between 10 others, so the 2nd hand market would be dead anyways!!
Dev: Are you f***ing high??!??!?!?!?!?
Xbox One discussion thread Quote
06-15-2013 , 09:22 AM
Well, MS is giving publishers the option to block the sharing feature so we'll see how many games actually allow this.
